We did it! 💙 Blue Cap's Tag Days raised over $5,000!

A huge thank you to the City of Palos Heights, IL and the Village of Worth , and to our Saturday volunteers who made it such a success: Tri-State Disposal, Marrs Meyer Post 991 American Legion, and Troublemakers Athletic Club. Also a thank you to Albanese Candy- Factory Outlet Store for donating the gummy bear treats for us to give out to all the donors on Saturday! 🙌

SELF-ADVOCACY IN ACTION AT BLUE CAP!

Today, Blue Cap was pleased to welcome Illinois State Representative Bob Rita for an in-person visit with our Self-Advocacy Committee. Rep. Rita currently represents Illinois’ 28th District.

Our advocates came prepared with questions and had the opportunity to speak directly with Rep. Rita about what happens in Springfield, what a bill is, how representatives vote, and how they can make their voices heard when an issue is important to them.

They also talked with Rep. Rita about several bills they hope to see move forward in Springfield and shared why these issues matter to them, to the individuals we serve, and to the people who support them every day.

It was a great opportunity for our advocates to ask questions, share what is important to them, and experience firsthand what self-advocacy can look like.

🚗 Thank you for another great Romin’ The Island!

We’re so grateful to everyone who came out on Saturday, September 19, 2026 to support Blue Cap.

The forecast may have been uncertain, but the support for Blue Cap certainly wasn’t. By the end of the day, more than $7,000 had been raised for Blue Cap.

What a fun blast from the past! Vintage Cars, Hot dogs, Ice Cream, Raffles and a Flame Throwing Exhaust Show that thrilled the crowd!

A special thank you to Scott Schmaltz, Joe Matuk of Mac Tools, our Raffle Sponsor, and the entire Romin’ Chariots Car Club for the time, planning, and work that went into the event.

We’re also grateful to the volunteers, car owners who participated, and everyone who donated, purchased raffle tickets, or stopped by to show their support.

Over the past 15 years, Romin’ The Island has raised more than $65,000 for Blue Cap. We are incredibly thankful for the continued generosity behind this event and for the friendship of the Romin' Chariots Car Club!

Thank you for always showing up for our community. No one has better friends than Blue Cap.💙
