Blue Earth Area Mentors (BEAM) is currently looking for caring adults to become volunteer mentors for local youth.

Just a few hours each month can have a lasting impact. A mentor provides encouragement, friendship, guidance, and support to a student who could benefit from having a positive role model in their life.

As a mentor, you can help:
✅ Build confidence and self-esteem
✅ Encourage academic success
✅ Create positive social connections
✅ Inspire future goals and opportunities
✅ Strengthen our local community

Have you ever considered becoming a mentor?

Small towns run on strong connections—and sometimes, all it takes to change a kid’s life is one consistent, positive adult showing up for them. That could be you.

You don’t need to have all the answers. You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to be willing to listen, encourage, and maybe share a few laughs along the way.

An hour here, a conversation there… it adds up to confidence, support, and a reminder to a young person that they matter.

This is an open-to-the-public, family friendly event.

What is BEAM?
Beam is a local mentorship program designed to provide healthy relationships, support, and coaching to area youth through one-on-one mentor/mentee interactions and group activities.
We are for ALL area youth! Mentorship is a way to enhance one's life, regardless of his/her status and environment. Mentorship is focused on developing life skills, improving self-esteem, building confidence, and providing guidance through some of life's challenges.

What BEAM is NOT:
We are not social services. We are not licensed counseling. We are not just for at-risk youth. We are not a part of the public school system.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫??
Here's just a little info...
* We have a huge need
* We ask for a minimum of two engagements per month. It's not a significant time commitment, and makes such an impact in the life of the child.
* BEAM has resources for you to utilize and activity ideas.
* We need mentors for kids between the ages of 9 and 14 - both boys and girls.
* You'll improve a child's self-esteem and their mental, emotional, and physical development.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support us on Saturday! All of your smiles, laughter, and kindness warmed the chilly fall day right up!

The generous donations from our community are so appreciated, and allow us to provide area youth with resources and activities that not only help accomplish academic responsibilities, but also focus on building confidence and self-esteem.
