EDIT TO ADD:

Cats have found placement and are safe and happy. Thank you everyone for sharing and caring!

Help needed! NOT MY CATS. Trying to help someone out. They are in a situation they never imagined and they have to part with their 3 babies. All are fixed and up to date on shots. I was hoping to be able to help out and foster til transfer but some things have come up. The last thing they want to do is have to take them to a shelter but they are running out of time. Please share. If you or anyone you know would be interested, please contact me. I can get more info and photos if needed. Let’s help these sweet loved babies find their next home. ❤️

Please no comments on the current owner or their situation. This is not something happening lightly or easily. These are their babies and they have no other option but to find a loving home.

Chloe giving our rescue turkey, Tom, some kisses today! He came earlier this year with some other young chickens ducks and his mate. We had no idea he’d turn out to be such a big love bug over time! ❤️

Hey guys. It’s been awhile. We’ve been busy getting ready for winter ! Wanted to give a much needed update! Sandman transferred today to the SPCA here on the eastern shore where he will begin his journey to find his forever family! Sandman has this opportunity because of all of you. He has had a rough go at life but he fought because you all allowed him the chance to. He may be a tail less wonder now but he’s still sweet as can be. I’ll miss you sandman but I’m so happy you get to find your family now. Thank you to every single one of you for making this possible. Now our rehab room will get a good cleaning and we will get a slight break before the craziness begins again. This was an extremely hard year for rescue. Especially cat rescue. Funds for many people were low, transfer was almost non existent, and all of us in rescue are tired. We now have to switch our focus to our rescue goat shug who should be having her babies any time now !

Sandman is almost fully healed!!! It’s been a journey. Went to vet today to see if his staples could come out. Almost. We will try again Tuesday. While he’s home he gets some sleepy meds to keep him from chewing on it. I’m so happy to say we are almost fully healed!! He’s a bit stubby now but that’s ok! Still sweet as can be. Thank you to everyone who made this possible for him. I really wasn’t sure what I was going to be able to do to help him. 2 tail amputations later and lots of meds got him to this point ! I know he will find the best home ever once he’s done with us! lol

Sandman update! He’s healing well and I should be picking him up Friday! I can’t thank everyone enough for all the help to get him right! We are so thankful for the donations and for the monthly cat food that shows up at our door. As we come into winter I lose a lot of my income, which means I’ll be back to crafting stuff. If anyone is needing any vinyl decals done or any signs let me know!

No sandman updates today but we do have a new resident to welcome! Meet sugar! Shuggy is her nickname. She had a loving home where she just didn’t seem happy with her current friends. Her mom found her a new family who ended up sending her back. A mutual friend got us connected and here this sweet girl is! She may be pregnant but we won’t really know for a bit. For the moment she is the only female here. By next week my mom’s female will be joining her. ❤️

Edit to add. None of my male goats can breed her. So if she is pregnant, this is the last time

Sandman is doing well today. I am so thankful he’s able to stay at the vets office. He decided to show them last night why he’s not been able to heal….. he made a mess last night and got his cone off. Luckily he didn’t open the wound but he did make it swollen. This is why I wanted him to stay there. He just can’t help himself. Him being there is what is going to make the difference for him. Thank you to everyone for making this possible. Sandman has a chance at a new life because of all of you. Keep thinking good thoughts for him. Hopefully he can chill out and just leave it alone 🤦🏻‍♀️

Sandman did well with his surgery today. He is officially the tail-less wonder! The vet office offered to let him stay while he recovers. This is his best shot at a full recovery. Week days are $25 a day and weekends are $35 a day. If anyone would like to sponsor a day for him it would be super beneficial. If he decides to try to mess with it, he will be at the vets office and they will be able to handle it. Sandman has a chance at a new life once healed. He’s got transfer set up if he can just push through this last bit. Thank you for all the support always! We couldn’t do it without you!

Sandman is still at the vet and will have his procedure today to remove the rest of his tail. Please think good thoughts for this boy. Thank you to everyone who has helped donate towards his procedure. Having this kind of support is why we were able to say yes to moving forward with another surgery. Sandman has quickly become our longest and most expensive rescue ! I hope wherever you end up calling home, they appreciate you as much as we do! Although I think you’ve used a few of your 9 lives!

Oh sandman. This cat. He refused to let his tail heal. He’s had his cone on and has still managed to irritate it. He went into the vet today because he created a new infection. We retested for fiv to make sure he hadn’t been exposed before continuing. Everything came back negative. Rescue is hard because you have to know when to stop. We’ve spent a lot of money and time trying to get sandman healthy. Sometimes I wonder is it right to do so much for just one? I’ve gone back and fourth all morning. I’ve decided to go ahead and move forward and have the rest of his tail amputated in hopes that this does the trick. Remove all the dead tissue. More antibiotics. And hope and pray that he can leave it alone to fully heal. I’m moving forward knowing we have the help and support from so many friends who would do the same in our position. If anyone would like to donate to his new vet bill, anything would be appreciated. This is going to be a decent one as it’s another surgery. It’s not sandman’s fault that he had a bad start to life. It’s my job to help him move forward from here. Our vet thinks he’s got a good shot at fully healing this time by removing the rest.
Thank you for always supporting us here. You are why we can do what we do. If you’d like to help towards sandman’s bills our Venmo is

Any little bit helps to get this guy fixed up and find his forever home.

One of our rescues from this year is enjoying her life as barn help! She was the young mama cat we had to start the year out. She’s one of a kind.
We’ve been extremely busy this summer but as things slow down, we continue to work on the farm. The cats are all doing really well. The cat we took back in a month or so ago, it’s doing extremely well now in the colony. He just wasn’t happy in his old life I guess.
Bugs are so bad right now. If anyone has any suggestions on flea and tick control that actually works, please let me know! The majority of our colony is friendly enough to be treated. I am struggling to find anything that actually works this year.

Thank you to everyone for all the support you give us. We still have sandman the tail less cat. He is not allowing himself to heal. He is going to have to go back to the vet. He’s been the hardest cat I’ve had to date. Once he finally heals and heads on his way, I’ll have to take a break from the cats to clean everything up from the mess he made 😵‍💫. Before we know it it’ll be spring again and the need for rescue and foster help will be in high demand.

Rescue and foster isn’t for the weak. Sandman was a pull we had at the end of May. He got fixed, rabies, and snap test. Good to go for transfer! Well things got crazy with cats and transfer so he was stuck with us longer than planned. Normally not an issue. Except he somehow managed to cut the tip of his tail off. He was originally in the rehab room, but when 8 kittens needed to be pulled, he went back to climate controlled shed. Not sure how he managed this one. After a long night of panic, my amazing vet got him in today for a partial amputation. This was not on my bingo card for this month 😳. Sandman sir, you’ve used one of your 9 lives. No more please. Hopefully you’ll be adopted now that you are “unique” ? 😫😵‍💫. Thank god for our rescue fund. I wasn’t planning on using that money for this but I’m so thankful I had it. Cats find the weirdest ways to hurt themselves.
