This past weekend, Camp Boddie had the pleasure of hosting Troop 9 of Greenville from the Buccaneer District. Even with the rain they cleaned the path from Trading post to our Outdoor Skills Area and both trails leading to the Campfire circle. They also stacked campsite firewood in preparation for the second weekend of Wood Badge. These youth are not afraid of a little physical labor, all in all they saved the Ranger's about 4-5 hours of work so they can focus on improper areas of Camp! Thank you Troop 9!

Good morning everyone, if you know of anywhere that has milk crates they are trying to get rid of let us know. We could use them here at camp. Thanks Ranger Freddie

On this week's edition of Fix-it Friday, we have been busy playing in water or concrete or dirt all week. Roads are back to an ok status after all the snow melt and traffic last week. Let's talk a little about the lights in Hodges Building they are clean and mildew removed. Now on to the Dining hall one half of the room has been machine scrubbed and looks amazing can't wait to do the entire hall after Wood Badge weekend 2. Heat is working now in the dining hall! (MAY NOT TURN IT OFF EVEN DURING THE SUMMER WITH ALL THE IS THE HEAT WORKING QUESTIONS!) Now let's talk about shower valves encased in concrete. Whoever thought this was a good idea, I would love to have a long talk in a dark alley with them. 6.5 hours of hand chisel and jackhammering just to remove the valve to the shower. Water leaks have been a focus this week not that we had any that were not being fixed they just all popped up at one time. Ranger Freddie found out that his boots are no longer waterproof and Ranger John finally saw Ranger Freddie ill and flustered because his feet were wet and cold. If you are laughing at that, then Ranger Freddie hopes you have a calf cramp while sleeping tonight ( not really but its a good laugh) to end this we have a good time during the week at camp and we have trying times as well. Whatever you may think is a simple fix usually isn't on camp, cause Camp Boddie strikes back and it strikes hard. But nevertheless we love it here and will do our best to make this Camp your second home. With all the love we can muster after this week we can't wait to show you what we do next Friday.

When you get text like this, it makes you work a bit harder a bit longer and you know that people see the work that you and the Assistant Ranger JT are putting in. We have talks everyday about the plans we have for camp and how can we get there quickly. We'll the simple answer is slow and steady wins the race but neither of us are slow and steady guys. We are the type that will do 12 hours in only 8 hours. We are not satisfied with just getting by or putting a bandage on it. We want to restore camp back to when everyone who came here said " This is such a beautiful and awesome camp!"

Lots of things are being repaired on camp. While this is great if all we do is fix then theres no time for improvement!

We now have all three HVAC units working in the dining hall!
