To address the growing inequality and injustice in American society, Philanthropy for America (PFA) seeks to train the next generation of young philanthropists, entrepreneurs and humanitarians by enlisting, equipping, and empowering them with two years of full-time work experience in the nonprofit sector. Specifically, we partner with nonprofit, nongovernmental organizations across the United Stat
es and place them with employers who value the talents the Millennial generation. At the same time, we pair each Millennials with a private certified coach and financial literacy specialist to help college graduates pay off their student debt after higher education. PFA believes that real growth must be holistic, involving the development of every part of the whole person. As such, our two-year innovative fellowship program – to be launched in 2018 - is designed to impact the personal, professional, and academic areas of life. PFA seeks to help employers select, recruit and train Millennials by developing a platform for companies to prepare recent college graduates toward a career in business, education, management, social work, technology, among others. Our long-term goal is: 1) to provide Millennials with the skills and knowledge they need for career advancement and success , 2) to improve college degree attainment and completion rates for Millennials enrolled in an accredited four-year higher education institution, 3) to offer educational enrichment programs to educate Millennials the value and rationale for philanthropy and volunteerism in civil society, and 4) to provide nonprofit organizations the tools and resources they need to sustain themselves as change agents in society.
