June 5. Not only is it Friday. But it is also National Donut Day.

So grab yourself a donut and enjoy.

What is your favorite donut? Mine are the twists. And today, in addition to the glazed and cinnamon twists, Cresent Donut has tiger tails. (They only occasionally have the tiger tails.).

I got there early so as to not miss out on them.

RACE DAY

The 110th running of the Greatest Spectacle in Racing. The first race was in 1909. I know, I know, the numbers don’t add up. The race can’t run a few of those years.

Today, 33 drivers from all over the world will be racing around the track to win the checkered flag.

Of those 33, one is a woman. British Katherine Legge is starting for her 5th time. She is sitting in 26th position. Will she win this year?

Poke sitter is Alex Palou. He earned this spot with a qualifying speed of 232.248 mph. Can you imagine going that fast? He won in 2025. Do you think he can win back to back?

Since it was a sell out, it will be televised. We used to have to leave the area to watch it live. Will you be watching?

Do you have a preferred driver you hope will win?

Our friends in Harrodsburg are inviting you to join in the festivities!

Our annual Heritage Days festival is rolling in quickly Friday, May 15 & Saturday, May 16, 2026.

Don't miss out on the fun!

The food truck spaces are full! Festival food is the best. We'll have fish, tenderloin, tiger ears, loaded Nachos, BBQ, and steak wraps! Something relatively new to Harrodsburg, we'll also have a wide variety of energy drinks!

Our vendors are bringing in Alpaca clothing, handmade walking sticks, baked goods, strawberry shortcake, toys, jewelry, free raffles and MORE! With over 35 vendors, you're bound to find something creative and fun.

The Silent Auction is fully loaded. Restaurants, local stores, online shopping, the little red wagon is back and so is the landscape material! Baskets of goodies to spoil yourself or a loved one.

The parade lineup is coming together! We have a variety of entertainment lining up to impress this year. Don't forget about the candy! (It's not too late to join the parade. Just email your applications to us, it's too late to mail.) Line up for some fun Saturday, May 16th at 2PM.

Who will win our beloved annual raffle? Our raffle tickets are purchased at a small amount compared to its HIGH value! The winner will be announced at 8PM on Saturday. Some lucky winner will be bringing home a prize to brag about.

Bouncers-R-Us is back again bringing FREE ADMISSION to their inflatables, rock wall and ax throwing!

On the stage we have back to back entertainment lined up with live music, and a tractor pull!

The monster truck will be back again this year to bring larger than life experiences to our neighborhood kids!

After all that excitement winds down, we'll sit back enjoy the evening air and watch a spectacular fireworks display at 10PM Saturday night.

It takes +6 months of planning to pull an event like this together. Come down and see it for yourself.
