Spicewood Neighborhood Association Annual Meeting.

The Spicewood Neighborhood Association Annual Meeting will be held on October 4 at 10:15 AM in the Southwest Branch of the Monroe County Public Library. The meeting will be held in the new library branch at 890 W. Gordon because it has plenty of parking and is an easier drive than to the downtown library. Saturday morning was chosen because of availability of a meeting room. We found that no meeting space convenient to Spicewood is available during evenings and weekends.

One of the City staff contacted me on Friday with information about the plans for repaving Winslow and Rogers from Allendale to Sare. The work will start on April 1 and end in August. During that time, travel along Winslow/Rogers will have some obstacles and at times, there won’t be any access to Rogers from Spicewood. In addition, the roundabout at Rogers/Winslow/High will be closed completely for about 45 days from May 24 through August 1.

If you would like more information, please send a message to [email protected]. I received more info from the City that I will send more details as an email message. I can also ask the Engineering staff if I don’t have the answers in the materials they sent.

Here is the info that was posted on Friday on the City’s weekly email about road closings, etc:

Winslow and Rogers Rd will be resurfaced from Allendale to Sare Rd. There are new curbs, curb ramps, and sidewalk being installed as well. There is also a median and rain garden being installed at Xavier Ct on Winslow Ave.

Courtney Daily District 5 Constituent Meeting - Council member Daily, whose district includes Spicewood, will hold a constituent meeting on Thursday November 14 at 5 PM in Room 2A in the downtown library. I plan to attend because I have a couple items I'd like to discuss.
