A shout out to all of our faithful, outstanding volunteers at Oasis Community Outreach on this Labor Day. Over 60 volunteers have logged over 1,200 hours of service at Oasis so far this year with no pay, but the eternal benefits of serving others in love. Thank you for all you do. Happy Labor Day!

Oasis lives by the promise that Jesus feeds hungry people. We never cease to be amazed by the many different ways he does it. Just as we were beginning to run short on non perishable food items, our friends from the Lions Club of Bloomington Normal replenished our supply by hosting their food drive in the Oasis parking lot on Saturday. Thank you Lions for your ongoing support and help in fulfilling our mission of offering food, clothing and hope to our neighbors in McLean County.

A big thank you to all the Oasis volunteers who helped last night with our Kid's Clothing Give Away. Oasis was able to serve 57 families with free, quality clothing for their children.

28 "And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these" (Matthew 6:28,29).

Congratulations to Oasis volunteer, Bertha, for passing her citizenship test to become an American Citizen. Volunteers celebrated with a party on Tuesday morning and by wearing red, white and blue instead of our usual Oasis green t-shirts

Thanks to our friends at the Wilber group for sponsoring a donation drive for Oasis in June. Their “Make a Mess, Clean a Mess” donation drive had employees donate laundry detergent, pasta and pasta sauce and peanut butter and jelly. Their generosity will help Oasis provide these items to our neighbors through the summer months. Pictured are members of Wilber’s Client Services Department that collected the most from all the departments at Wilber.

Charis Pastor Kevin Kamm and Oasis Director Craig Stimpert say thank you by taking a pie in the face from everyone who participated in the food drive at Camp Charis this week. Participants collected peanut butter and jelly and laundry detergent to help restock the shelves at Oasis. Thanks Charis Kids. Your donations will really help us through the summer.

Oasis is grateful to Women to Women and the Illinois Prairie Community Foundation for their financial assistance in helping with our Saturday morning food Pantry. Tuesday night we had an opportunity to thank them at the annual Women to Women summer celebration at Hancock Stadium. Pictured is Oasis volunteer Kris Williams greeting Cathy Wentworth at Oasis' display table. Women to Women is an amazing organization in our community doing a world of good. It's a privilege for Oasis to partner with them.
