Meet Christie, our Operations Manager at CLC!

Christie holds a B.S. in Kinesiology from Indiana University and an M.S. in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern Indiana. Driven by her passion for the outdoors—shaped through years of hiking, camping, and gardening—she transitioned from healthcare to conservation, bringing her organization, heart, and dedication to our mission.

We’re grateful for all Christie brings to the team!💚

A win for conservation, and for the East Chicago community. 🙌

After concerns were raised about potential health impacts and the lack of meaningful public participation, the East Chicago Common Council voted to block a proposed scrap metal recycling facility near schools, a stadium, and a hospital. This decision reflects the power of community voices, careful scrutiny, and strong environmental advocacy.
