Hoosier Hills Food Bank

Hoosier Hills Food Bank Not one child. Not one senior. And not one in between. Hunger is not an option. Follow us on Twitter and Instagram!

Hoosier Hills Food Bank (HHFB) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which collects, stores, and distributes food to non-profit organizations that feed the hungry in Brown, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Orange, and Owen Counties in Indiana. At the Hoosier Hills Food Bank we think the least we can do is help to "take the hunger out of poverty." We support this initiative through community powered food

drives, our Families First Mobile Pantry, our Gardening & Gleaning program, local business partnerships, Meal Share Repack, Plant-A-Row for the Hungry, and USDA commodity programs, such as TEFAP and CSFP.

Busy weekend for Hoosier Hills Food Bank as we participated in Pack the Cruiser with Kroger, the Monroe County Sheriff's Department, and Bloomington Police Department. We collected 1135 lbs. of food from our community!

Moreover, 14 bins of Food Drive were sorted by 22 volunteers from the IU Office of Orientation & Enrollment Programs !
What a great way to kick off June!

Hoosier Hills Food Bank will work to raise $100,000 for its hunger programs this summer with each dollar donated being matched by a gift from the Indiana Pacers Foundation! Through its “Drive & Dish” food insecurity initiative, the Pacers Foundation will match all donations to HHFB dollar for dollar up to $100,000 now thru September 1.

“This is a huge boost for our summer food campaign and we’re so grateful to the Pacers Foundation,” said HHFB CEO Julio Alonso. “Basketball is a big thing at HHFB with lots of Hoosier, Pacers and Fever fans on our staff. It’s very exciting to be able to partner with the Foundation to grow awareness and raise support. Summers are always challenging with kids missing out on school meals and seniors choosing between keeping cool and keeping fed, but with food and gas prices at very high levels and more people being pushed off SNAP and Medicaid, we expect it to be even more challenging than usual. Over half of our partner agencies say they are serving more people than this time last year and around 40% say that number is still increasing. This is a great way to raise the support we need to try and keep pace.”
