The Youth Classic is a central part of the Sports Commission’s mission to promote the Bloomington-Normal area as a world class sporting event destination. We are grateful to our partners and volunteers for making this all happen.

The 2024 State Farm Youth Classic featured a field of 320 players ranging from ages four to 22 and represented four different countries.

Congratulations to all student-athletes nominated. Your hard work on the field and in the classroom is noticed and appreciated!

We hosted the 15th annual State Farm Student-Athlete Recognition Banquet on June 18 and recognized outstanding scholar athletes, coaches, teams, and others in McLean County for their achievements on and off the field.

Awards were presented to the following winners:
Female Team of the Year: U-High Girls Track & Field
Male Team of the Year: NCHS Boys Basketball
Coach of the Year – Female Sport: Randy Anderson, U-High Track & Field
Coach of the Year – Male Sport: Jason Drengwitz, Normal Community Football
Female Scholar Athlete: Brynn, Hoder, Bloomington HS
Male Scholar Athlete: Noah Misukonis, Bloomington HS
Female Athlete: Ali Ince, Normal Community
Male Athlete: Dominic Martin, Lexington-Ridgeview

Today, we released our 2023 “State of the Industry” Report for our $128 Billion Sport Tourism Industry. It’s also the first time we have revealed the Top 10 U.S. states with the highest economic impact generated by sports tourism in 2023.
