The VFW in Bloomington is in need of turkeys for their Thanksgiving dinner. If you are able to donate a turkey, please drop them off at the post or let me know where I can pick up and I'll come to you.....within reason of course. Every year we offer a Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings, free to our Veterans. In order to do this and keep our costs down, we rely on our local community to help with donating the turkeys. I am always reminded how generous and caring our community is this time of year, whether it's Thanskgiving or Christmas, it seems our communities always pull together for Veterans. It truly is appreciated! If you would like to join us on Thanksgiving day, we do take reservations for all to enjoy a great meal at a reasonable price. If you happen to know where the best turkey deals are, please post in the comments. And as always, no worries, there will be no shortage of turkey as we will purchase whatever isn't donated to ensure everyone is fed!

This week, we are featuring Amy Wicklund!

With a strong passion for customer service, Amy's career began as a hairstylist and color trainer for Elizabeth Arden salons before transitioning to healthcare as a health unit coordinator. Over 17 years in the Minneapolis VA Health Care System, she worked in roles including primary care, the Post Deployment Clinic, Fisher House, and Specialty Care, dedicating herself to supporting Veterans and their families. At MACV, Amy is a Client Intake & Information Specialist and finds her role at MACV to be one of the most fulfilling and challenging positions she has ever had. WE STAND TOGETHER! For Our Friend and Bartender who has Given 40+ yrs of Service to our VFW Post 1296, Saturday 2-8-25 we show our Gratitude and Support for a Man that has served so many of you and the VFW for so long! All day long we will be taking donations, conducting raffles, wine/liquor pulls, and we'll feed you till it’s gone. We continue into the night accepting donations during our live music provided by Heart Breaker!
