REPORT: HEPTO Emergency Medical & Humanitarian Outreach β Mogadishu
HEPTO Somalia successfully conducted an emergency medical and humanitarian outreach in Mogadishu, supporting internally displaced families and drought-affected migrants fleeing food insecurity, conflict, and loss of livelihoods.
In a single day, our team reached 400β500 displaced families, prioritizing children under five, pregnant and lactating mothers, adolescent girls, and elderly community members.
Services Provided
β’ Medical check-ups and essential medicines
β’ Nutrition support for malnourished children
β’ Emergency food assistance
β’ Dignity kits and hygiene supplies for women and girls
β’ Health education for caregivers
Many families had no access to healthcare, food, or hygiene supplies before this outreach. Mothers shared that their children had gone days without proper meals, and basic medical care was unreachable.
Community Strength
Local women volunteers played a critical role, serving without pay and demonstrating strong community ownership and trust in HEPTOβs work.
Impact at a Glance
β 400β500 families supported
β Hundreds of children received medical and nutrition care
β Women and girls received dignity and hygiene support
β Life-saving services delivered in a high-need IDP settlement
HEPTO plans to return with additional food, medicines, nutrition support, and hygiene supplies, but growing needs require stronger partnerships.
π€ We invite donors and humanitarian partners to stand with HEPTO and help expand life-saving support for displaced families in Mogadishu.
