It’s a season of thanks and congratulations! Join us in thanking Sam for their three years as our Operations Manager. They close out their time with us this week, then go fully into leading their own business. If you need appliances repaired, we recommend them highly!

And join me in welcoming Zachary into the Operations Manager position! You came to know Zachary as our administrative assistant, and we are eager to see his role grow!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Friday’s gala! You deepened community, created beautiful art, and exceeded our fundraising goal — covering the cost of our food bank shared maintenance fees for a full calendar year! Thanks to you, over a million pounds of food will move through our pantry.

This month's volunteer spotlight is Regan! Regan started volunteering in our pantry in spring 2024 when he "got tired of complaining about things and decided to start using his time in a community-focused way." We love that attitude! When he’s not at the Hub, you can find Regan at the dog park, playing games, kayaking, or backpacking. We love Regan’s willingness to jump into any task we throw at him. Thanks for all your hard work, Regan!

Want to work alongside Regan? Step 1 is attending a volunteer orientation. Our next two orientations are Sept. 9 at 2 pm or Sept. 17 at 5 pm, here at the Hub.

Congratulations, Georgia 🎉 Last week, she was honored with a Be Great award from our local Boys & Girls Club for being a great community partner. Each summer, she hosts teens in the Ferguson Crestmont Club's summer programming. Georgia guides them through planting, tending, harvesting from, and taking time to observe and settle into the garden space. The also gather in the kitchen classroom to put garden goodies to use (including, this year, making lemon-lime slushies that the whole staff wanted in on). We're so grateful for this recognition of the relationships she builds with you, the skills they grow together, and the bridges we build between organizations throughout our community. Thank you, Georgia, for all your wonderful work – and thank you, Boys & Girls Club, for giving us space to help more youth feel at home at the Hub!
