We have 2 1/2 acres deep in the heart of Bloomington Indiana on the South Side. Our east border is nature preserve. We recently purchased the 1/2 acre to the north of us which gave us extra land to use for enclosed parking so our neighbors to the north don't have to stare at the backs of our cars. Instead we will have three more houses that will not officially be part of our cohousing community bu

When the number of residents under the age of twelve jumps from 5 to 11 in one month...you put in a slide!! Both the new walkers and experienced sliders are enjoying the first segment of the planned children's areas spread across the center of the community. Five years ago this week....the first two households moved into Bloomington Cohousing! What a difference five years can make. From dust storms and construction equipment to gardens and community. And we're just getting started!

It's National Cohousing Week! Cohousing communities across the country are holding open houses all week.

Happy New Year from a cold, snowy ! We have a well organized schedule of residents who help with shoveling and salting each winter, but when you get almost a foot of snow it's all hands on deck!
