Toastmasters International Mission: We empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders.

Friday we closed out the year with a celebration breakfast at our meeting.

TM has “pathways” projects that members complete to help strengthen communication and leadership skills.

Certificates were given for pathways accomplishments.

We also recognized many new members this year. They all have been great additions to BGM and are already getting quality, low risk opportunities to practice speaking.

You can see one great thing about our club - we have a hybrid environment where some members take advantage of the flexibility to join from home locally, and others have continued being members even after moving out of town (out of state even)

If something has been pulling at you to improve public speaking - come visit a meeting and see what it is all about.

A great meeting this morning with a natural theme of “slowing down”. Sloths, drives, life, and even “marrying into turtles”.

It’s always great to see a new member start their journey with their first opportunity to speak. Last week we had 2 new members complete icebreaker speeches!

We had a great icebreaker today about deciding to get up and come to these early meetings to improve yourself - embracing uniqueness and learning from others. Good job, Sara!
We give a Toastmasters pin to each new member accomplishing their first speech.

At the end of last month we had one of our largest meetings since our days at St. Charles! A few of us had breakfast after the meeting at Uptown since one of our regular online attendees was in town.

We have also welcomed a few new members in the last month that have jumped right into using low-risk opportunities to practice public speaking.

We had great attendance today on the warmest day of the week!

This month we have had someone share how Toastmasters helped them prepare and succeed in an interview for a new job with more speaking responsibilities AND a guest who visited because of interest in improving speaking skills to prepare for a second career.

We get to see great sunrises after our meetings and have a great start to Friday leading into the weekend.

Many people thought it was too early but grew to love the supportive environment and opportunities to increase confidence in public speaking.
