👀SURGEONS - We've got your QUARTERLY TRAINING opportunity!
Department of Texas State Surgeon Andrea Ortiz is inviting Post and District Surgeons to join her for the Surgeon Quarterly Training on Wednesday, August 26, at 7:00 PM Central.

This training will allow our Surgeons to stay informed, strengthen their knowledge and responsibilities, and connect with other Surgeons throughout the Department.

Being a LEADER is more than one being in, or holding a position.
I personally would like to thank the men and women that make up PFC Adelaido M. Solis Memorial VFW Post 6074 in Bloomington.
I Ernie Pemberton have dreams and goals for OUR Post to achieve great accomplishments and we have achieved this OUTSTANDING accomplishment of being an All-American Post.
No, the commander can't do this alone, but plays and instrumental part of leading the organizational make-up, to come together and make things happen...
I appreciated the opportunity as commander and will be assisting the Post as it's Adjutant for year 2026-2027. I thank all the members for a successful 3 years as commander...and look forward to another successful year under the next commander...Let's keep doing GREAT things for our little community of Bloomington. Attached is a State-Wide accomplishment for Post in the State of Texas and look at Bloomington.

Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, a day deeply rooted in Texas history and connected to the enduring principles of freedom and service.

On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston and issued General Order No. 3, announcing and enforcing the freedom of enslaved people in Texas more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. The presence of the soldiers ensured that the promise of freedom became a reality.

This day recognizes the unique role military service has played throughout our nation's history, often protecting the rights and freedoms of Americans at home, not just defeating enemies abroad.

Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is one of our nation's most cherished values, and that generations of Americans, in and out of uniform, have contributed to the ongoing pursuit of liberty and equal opportunity. This nationally recognized holiday traces its origins to Texas and serves as an important chapter in our state's story and our nation's history.

A very huge THANKS to our women veterans....

TxVFW proudly recognizes June 12 as Women Veterans Recognition Day.
On June 12, 1948, President Harry S. Truman signed the Women's Armed Services Integration Act, allowing women to serve as permanent members of the United States Armed Forces. While women have answered our nation's call throughout American history, this landmark legislation formally recognized their place in the military, helping to pave the way for future generations of service members. In 2017, Texas joined approximately 16 other states in honoring women veterans on this day of observance, commemorating the anniversary of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act.

Today, we honor the courage, sacrifice, leadership, and dedication of the women who have served and continue to serve in our military. Their contributions have strengthened our Armed Forces, defended our freedoms, and inspired generations of Americans.

Women Veterans are the fastest-growing segment of the Veteran population, yet their stories are too often untold. On this Women Veterans Day, we encourage all Texans to recognize the women Veterans in their communities, learn their stories, and thank them for their service.

On June 6, 1944, D-Day marked the largest amphibious assault in history as Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy, France. For Veterans, this day is a solemn reminder of selfless service and the heavy price paid for our freedom. It exemplifies valor and unity in the face of tyranny, serving as a foundational example of courage.

Historically, D-Day was pivotal in the liberation of Western Europe and a crucial turning point in World War II, halting the horrors of the Holocaust and protecting the democratic values we cherish today. D-Day was a turning point that not only led to the liberation of France but also marked the beginning of the end for N**i Germany. It facilitated the advance of Allied forces into occupied Europe, ultimately establishing the groundwork for a democratic Europe. The principles fought for during this operation continue to inspire global movements for liberty and human rights today.

As we honor the bravery of our Veterans, let's ensure their history and sacrifice are preserved for future generations. Consider joining local commemorative events, many of which can be found through a local VFW Post, while also being intentional about spreading awareness about this pivotal moment in history. Together, we can ensure that the values of courage and freedom endure for future generations.

***Memorial Day 2026***
