Storm cleanup presents serious hazards including electrical risks, musculoskeletal injuries, hazardous materials, heat stress, and falls. Before you pick up a chainsaw, rake, or shovel, please take a few minutes to make sure you’re doing it as safely as possible:

🪚 Work in teams when clearing debris.

🚸 Keep bystanders, children, and animals clear of cutting work.

⚡ NEVER approach downed power lines.

🥾 Wear appropriate clothing and protective gear, like cut-resistant gloves, sturdy close-toed boots, a helmet or hard hat near unstable structures or tree limbs, etc.

🦠 Cuts and scrapes can become contaminated with dirt or debris - if it has been 10+ years since your last tetanus vaccination (or 5+ years for significant wounds), talk to your care provider about getting a Tdap booster.
