25 Under 25 Call for Nominations!

We are accepting nominations for our 25 under 25 recognition program for young leaders. Please take just a moment to recognize a young leader you know through your organization, school, church, or neighborhood. Anyone under the age of 25 on April 21 is eligible.

Being a part of the 25 under 25 is recognition not only for success already achieved but also to encourage the potential we see in young leaders. Past honorees include elementary and junior high students who are leaders among their peers at schools and community centers as well as college graduates heavily involved in civic engagement activities. We are lucky to work with so many amazing young people and I hope you can think of at least one person that would be thrilled to receive a message from our committee saying “Congratulations!”

To nominate someone (or more than one!), send the following information to Deborah Halperin at [email protected]. Nominations are due on March 30. We need:

Name of young person:
Contact information (email preferred but phone or address is fine):
Your name & email:
A short statement as to why you believe this person is one of the 25 under 25 (500 words max):

Being a part of the 25 under 25 means they will be honored with a plaque, in a proclamation by local leaders, and through local and social media. There is no on-going commitment. The 25 under 25 will be introduced at the Service Celebration which is the wrap up ceremony for McLean County Cares (formerly known as Global Youth Service Day which has now combined efforts with the United Way Day of Caring). This event will happen at noon on Saturday, April 21 at First Christian Church. Attendance is encouraged but not required.

Thanks for your support. If you have any questions, please contact Deborah Halperin at [email protected]. She will be accepting your nominations by March 30. Those selected will be notified by April 6.
