This Repatriation Mission was 19 years ago, but Brian's account of his Father's story is a reminder of why the MN Patriot Guard does what we do!

MISSION REPORT - Repatriation of WWII MIA /Medal Of Honor Recipient CPT Willibald Bianchi, New Ulm, MN.

On Saturday, May 2nd, 24 PGR members honored CPT Willibald Bianchi, whose remains where identified after 80 years. We stood along the sidewalk in front of the Readiness Center in New Ulm before the ceremony.

We then transferred to the cemetery and stood along the path to the gravesite before Capt. Bianchi and the family arrived for the graveside service and military honors. We then went back to the Readiness Center and presented the PGR plaque to the family.

We were thanked by people passing by. One special thanks, a little boy thanked us by giving everyone a freshly picked dandelion while we were standing the flag line at the Readiness Center. One of our members gave his mom a US flag lapel pin for her son. She asked him to pin it on her son's vest after he was done passing out the dandelions which he did. At the cemetery he walked past the line and one member overheard him tell his mom that they are still wearing the flowers.

Thank you to everyone who attended.

It has been our unwritten policy to only share MN Military Salute Angelversary poats and a very specific Mission and Event reminders. We have not shared Mission & Event Info as we want our members to go to our official Mission calenders for info and updates. That will continue.

However, to help promote attendance at missions, we will start posting carefully screened mission photos (no family or casket photos) along with mission reports so our members and the general public can better see and understand what we do!

We are not asking our members to take photos at funerals, and we always want to respect the privacy of families and guests

MN Patriot Guard was officially registered later that year, in part at the request of local donors, to keep funds within the state. Minnesota has been a leader in forming and organizing as a state branch of the national Patriot Guard Riders organization.

Happy Birthday to the PGR!!! The Patriot Guard Riders were formed in early August 2005 by members of the American Legion Riders Chapter 136 in Kansas. The PGR was officially registered on Feb 21st, 2006. We have been serving our veteran, and first responder brethren for over 20 years now.
