Good afternoon,

We hope you are having a great first day of classes! As we are gearing up for the new semester, we wanted to gauge interest and timings for our regular chapter meetings, so please fill out the poll below based on your schedule for the semester to help us choose a time that will work for everyone. (Remember to take into consideration when your exams and other org meetings may be!)

Once we hear back from you all, we will decide when and where our meetings will take place, and whether we will need to meet on a weekly or biweekly basis.

GlobeMed at IU's heart goes out to all of those affected by the shooting in Las Vegas last night. Gun control and gun safety are incredibly important topics in our country and as students, it's important that we understand what's happening around us.

We will be discussing this topic tomorrow at our meeting - here are a few questions to help you start thinking:

1. What does the second amendment mean to you? Does it hold the same meaning it did when it was first written?

2. What can and should schools do to keep their students safe?

Hi GlobeMeders! We are going to try something new this week to make it easier for those of you who are unable to make it to our meetings on Tuesdays, 7:15-8pm in Woodburn 111:

While we would love to have you physically present at our meetings, we have decided to start Facebook Live-streaming so that everyone can be "present" during discussion, or at least watch the video on your own time to see what you've missed. Also, we would greatly appreciate your input during meetings and discussion, which you can contribute via the "comments" section on the Live videos!

We will continue to send out meeting slides via email, but we will be posting them and discussion posts on Facebook, so please be sure to keep up with us here and participate in discussions to get more involved!

Join us today at 7:30 PM in Student Building room 140 for our weekly chapter meetings. We will be discussing events we have planned for the near future. Our GHU this week will focus on the state of our country. We will be discussing POTUS' recent executive orders and giving information on resources on campus as well as upcoming events that will be put on by other organizations on campus.
