Exciting news!

We are absolutely thrilled to share that the Normal Public Library will reopen its main building at 206 W. College on Friday, July 25 at 9 am!

To facilitate a smooth transition from providing service at our temporary branch to operating out of our renovated facility, we will be pausing most public services, including public access to both buildings, beginning Friday, July 18, until we reopen on Friday, July 25.

During our brief closure, the following services will continue:

-All off-site programming will happen as scheduled
-All outreach events and visits will happen as scheduled
-Curbside hold pickup will be available at our main building at 206 W. College (see below for further details)
-We will still be reachable by phone at 309-452-1757

Please note that the following services will not be available beginning July 18:

-Access to our temporary branch and main facility
-Prize pickup for the Summer Reading Challenge and the Book Bucks Store
-Computer, printing, copying, and faxing services

During our temporary closure, curbside hold pickup will be available in our main parking lot at 206 W. College (our main building, not our branch). If you'd like to use this service starting July 18, follow the steps below:

1.Pull into our lot off of College Avenue and park near the windows that say "Curb It!" (If you are biking or walking, you are welcome to use this service as well following the same steps!)

2.Give us a call or send a text to 309-824-0809. Please have your library card or photo ID ready for our staff.

3.Give us a few moments to get your items and check them out to your account, and we'll bring them out to you.

If you don't want to pick up your holds during our brief closure, you are welcome to wait until we open on July 25. Any hold items that become available between Friday, July 11 and Thursday, July 24 will be held for two weeks instead of one week so that patrons have ample time to pick them up inside our building once we open if that is their preference.

While we are very excited to open our doors to you at 206 W. College on July 25, there are a few areas of the building that are not quite ready for the public to enjoy. Those spaces include our used book sale, all-ages makerspace, Board Room, and Community Room. These will open later this year after we receive a few final furnishings and technology pieces.
