The Bloomington Storytelling Project

The Bloomington Storytelling Project The Bloomington Storytelling Project hosts regular live storytelling events and story booths, and maintains an online archive of recorded stories.

We produce "The Porch Swing," a weekly story showcase, broadcast on WFHB, most Saturdays at 5:30pm. The Bloomington Storytelling Project was started in 2009 by Laura Grover who wanted to find a way to reach out to the Bloomington community. Since it's first storytelling event in the summer of 2009, the project has grown to a volunteer production team of twelve who create the weekly BSP radio show

"The Porch Swing", organize storybooths at community venues, and put together four or more live events per year. Together we provide opportunities for real people to share real stories with the rest of the community through our seasonal live true storytelling events, and also by recording people's true stories in the field and at the WFHB studio. Shy or outgoing - recording a true story is easy, fast, and free. Please consider sharing your story. Contact me at [email protected]

We're hosting a live event on February 22nd at The Bishop. This time around, the theme is music: songs, records and our connections to them.

We look forward to hearing from you.
