A few specifics about tonight's meeting location, Heartwork Brewing...

Date: Thursday, April 23rd, 2026

Time: 5:30pm Social Hour, 6:00pm Meeting Start. Meetings are typically one hour - expect to be done and gone by 7:00.

Address: 1703 N College Ave, Bloomington

Options Besides Beer: Heartwork brews several in-house beers, and also offer house-made seltzer and many non-alcoholic beverage options including kombucha, seltzer, juice, craft soda, and Athletic Brewing "near beer".

Food Options: Heartwork serves Neapolitan pizza on select days (including Thursday) at 5pm until sold out. They also offer soft, warm Tell City Pretzels with their in-house beer cheese. Pre-packaged snacks are available at the bar. Outside food is welcome.

Last quarter, 50 Men Who Care raised over $2000 for Susie's Place in Bloomington. That's kinda cool... but with more members we can do even more good work locally.

Won't you join us?

50 Men Who Care meets this Thursday (tomorrow) at 5:30 at Heartwork Brewing (1703 N College Ave). One hour of your time every three months to yield huge positive impact in the local Community - not a bad investment if you ask me.

Oh, and they have beer. :)

Did you know that 50 Men Who Care is a member of the 100 Who Care Alliance, an organization that works with giving circles across the nation and around the world? It's a loose affiliation - each chapter is 100% local and autonomous, but we share lessons learned and helpful tips with other chapters via the Alliance. This means that even the smallest groups in the most remote corners of the world can lean on the larger, successful groups, all in the name of helping their local non-profits reap the benefits of collective giving. At last count, there were 819 active chapters around the globe, with the vast majority of those in the US and Canada.

But for those hundreds of groups and their millions of dollars raised, none of them are meeting in a Brewery in Bloomington... none of them except US that is!

The next quarterly meeting of 50 Men Who Care is on Thursday, April 23rd. Social Hour begins at 5:30 and we get down to the business of participatory philanthropy at 6.

Come join us at Heartwork Brewing, 1703 N College Avenue to find out what worthy local non-profit will be our winner! And if YOU have a non-profit you would like to propose as our quarterly winner, please plan on attending!

Congratulations to Susie's Place of Bloomington, our winning non-profit from this week's 50 Men Kickoff Meeting! Thanks also to the Monroe County Humane Association and to St Vincent DePaul, who were the other two non-profits drawn from the hat on Thursday. It was a tough, tough choice for many of us!

Susie's Place will be receiving a donation of approximately $2000 - we will know the exact amount once all of our late registrations have been processed. Please visit the link below to learn more about the critical work they do for at-risk children in our community.

While we're waiting, if YOU would like to join 50 Men and help increase the size of our First Quarter donation, please visit the link in the comments below and sign-up!

We had a great first meeting on January 15th. We awarded our first unrestricted grant in four years to Susie's Place (https://susiesplace.org/bloomington/) that helps abused children. We are keen to get more members to grow the amount that we can give worthy charities like Susie's Place!
