Supporting the Families of Our Fallen Heroes

The outpouring support and contributions for the families of Officer Paul Elmstrand, Officer Matthew Ruge and Firefighter/ Paramedic Adam Finseth is deeply appreciated. If you would like to offer support to the families of our fallen heroes in the coming days, please direct monetary contributions to Law Enforcement Labor Services. This site is coordinated by Law Enforcement Labor Services and contributions will be delivered directly to the families.

This is the only contribution site we have verified on behalf of the families. Please be aware of scam fundraisers seeking to exploit this tragedy.

For those who would like to make a non-monetary contribution as a show of support, you may bring contributions to Prince of Peace Church, 13801 Fairview Dr. Burnsville, MN 55337. More information is available at Prince of Peace’s Mission Outpost donation center. https://www.burnsvillemn.gov/2376/Community-Updates https://lels.org/benevolent-fund/

***UPDATE- If you are a former first responder and do not have an ID, please bring a photo of you in uniform, or a photo ID and paperwork for retirement or something similar, or someone who can vouch for your service***

We invite all current and former police, fire, EMS, corrections, and 911 dispatch to join us for this First Responders Coffee & Connection event coming up Friday from 930-11am at the Eagan Community Center. This is an opportunity to connect in a healthy way, with others who understand and are feeling the same or similar emotions. The Invisible Wounds Project will provide coffee, a light breakfast, opportunity for conversation, connection, and additional resources. A therapist(s) will be on hand should anyone wish to connect.

Something we are hearing is that people are feeling like they are the "only ones" feeling angry, resentment, anxiety, and abandonment. We want to connect people and help them understand that they are not alone in those feelings, and they are normal. It's important to connect, talk, and avoid isolating. This won't be a 90 minute class on what you should and shouldn't be doing, but we will briefly discuss some healthy options that we all can implement into our daily routines to help us improve our mental health.

This is free to attend. We will require an ID or proof of service so that this is a secure event. If you plan to attend, we ask that you please RSVP to [email protected] so we can plan our supplies accordingly. If you don't RSVP, you are still welcome to attend.
