The Corn Crib will be kicking off the season in style with Corny’s Big Summer Blowout presented by Rivian. Expect lots of fun for all ages.

Greetings Bloomington-Normal Community!

The Bloomington-Normal Chapter of Jack & Jill of America, Inc. in partnership with the Bloomington-Normal YMCA are hosting our signature JJ Swims Water Safety event and would like to extend an invitation to you and your families.

According to the Centers for Disease Control:

▪️Black children ages 5 – 19 drown at rates 5.5 times higher than white children in pools.

▪️Black children ages 11-12 drown in pools at rates 10 times those of whites.

To lessen these statistics we are hosting this event FREE OF CHARGE. Although our goal is to improve water safety statistics and swimming abilities within the Black community, this event is open to and beneficial for all children in the Bloomington-Normal community.

Please help us congratulate Jack and Jill Teen Bradley Ross Jackson of the Bloomington-Normal Chapter on receiving the NAACP Youth Image Award at the 54th NAACP Image Awards ! We are so proud of you Bradley

JJ Teen Bradley Ross Jackson of JJ Bloomington-Normal Chapter will receive The NAACP's Youth Image Award at the 54th NAACP Image Awards!

Bradley became a life member of the NAACP the day he was born, possibly being one of the youngest youth members in the history of the organization. He has served on Bloomington-Normal NAACP’s Youth Council and, in 2022, was elected as youngest President of the Illinois NAACP Youth and College Division. In July 2022, Bradley received the NAACP Mr. Medgar Evers’ Award and the NAACP’s Organizer of the Year Award. He also received local ACT-SO Gold Medals in Original Essay and Poetry Written Competitions. He has devoted his entire life to advocating for racial and social justice and he uses his gift of oration to inspire, motivate and change the nation.

His parents are Dr. Carla Campbell-Jackson and Mr. Kevin Jackson.

The 54th NAACP Image Awards show telecast is on Saturday, February 25, 8/7C on BET.
