Ritmos Latinos Indiana is a Bloomington, Indiana group that dances, teaches, and performs rueda de casino, a form of Cuban salsa. Located at Indiana University, this group is open to IU students and community members alike.

Ritmos salsa classes start back up on May 12th in the IMU Georgian Room.
Bring a friend, check out the club, and come dance with us!

No prior experience is necessary. We start with the basics of Cuban Rueda de Casino and work our way up to the harder moves as we go. Anyone and everyone is welcome, regardless of skill level!

! The first two classes are FREE, and then $35 for students and $45 for non-students for the entire semester.

Beginner level on Tuesdays, Intermediate level on Thursdays.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for this Saturday’s workshops and fiesta!
The energy on the dance floor was incredible, and it was so special to share these dances with all of you.
A huge shoutout to our guest instructor, Paul Cassens, for sharing his expertise and passion with the Ritmos Latinos Indiana community. We hope you all walked away with new moves and great memories (and maybe sore feet)!

Ritmos Latinos presents a day of Cuban dance workshops, followed by the Spring Fiesta! We are excited to welcome guest instructor Paul Cassens who's going to share his passion for music and dance with us.

Workshops are open to dancers who learned the basics of casino (guapea, dile que no, enchufe, vacilala, p'abajo, exhibela)

Join us for a new semester of Beginner Rueda de Casino starting tonight: Tuesday, September 23rd! Tonight’s class will be in Wells Library E174 (located by the library’s south entrance, on the ground floor, between the two sets of glass doors).

As a reminder, the first two weeks of classes are free, and we are accepting new members. No partner or previous experience necessary.

VOLUNTEER WITH RITMOS BY TAKING ON AN OFFICER ROLE (PRESIDENT):

Our current president Austin is finished with coursework and will be stepping away as president of Ritmos this fall. We are looking for a current enrolled IU student to fill the following club position, which is required for us to continue as a club at IU:

President – Serves as contact point and spokesperson for the group. Responsible for calling and leading officer meetings, serves as primary contact for the club for IU. Responsible for registering the club each year, reserving rooms for dance space (at the IMU and Lotus Firebay), reserving IMU locker space, and scheduling teachers for each class. Ensures that Ritmos adheres to the Student Organization Handbook. Must be an IU student and must have the ability to serve for one full year (welcome to serve longer if desired).

This position can only be held by current and enrolled Indiana University students (both undergraduate and graduate are eligible). Time commitment varies, with the start and end of each semester requiring a little more work than the rest of each semester. If you’re currently an enrolled IU student and are interested in this position, please e-mail [email protected] to let us know. We are hoping to fill this position ASAP.
