The American Legion Riders on the Fund 85 Ride had raised $45,000 for helping struggling veterans. Then, at the end on Saturday in Waseca, Jim Mead and Paul Hassing of Post 550 and Jody Hassing of Unit 550 announced a donation of $20,000 from our post! The Riders in the room went crazy with excitement! We care about veterans in need and preventing homelessness, hunger and su***de. Thanks to all members and staff of the Bloomington Legion Family for making this possible.

Bloomington Post 550 sponsored three boys to attend Minnesota Boys State, and on Friday, one of them, Carter Klein, was elected Governor of Boys State. Wow! On Saturday, he was named the recipient of a scholarship and named the senior senator from Minnesota to attend Boys Nation July 17-24 in Washington, D.C. Klein will be a senior at Jefferson High School this fall. We are proud of Carter for representing Bloomington well!
