Nischa Chuppecat Lodge #212 Nischa Chuppecat Lodge, Hoosier Trails Council #145, Bloomington, IN

Nischa Chuppecat Lodge is an Order of the Arrow Lodge of Scouts BSA located in Section E-1 of the Eastern Region. The Lodge came into being on January 1, 1973 through the merger of Wazi Yata Lodge 290 and So-Aka-Gha-Gwa Lodge 212. Nischa Chuppecat has a long history of serving at NOAC's, acting as Service Lodge for the 1990, 1996, and 2002, 2009, 2018 NOAC’s. We are the home lodge of one National Vice Chief – Tony Steinhart and two Region Chiefs – Ryan King and Logan Greene. We also have 5 DSA recipients – Tony Steinhart, Ryan King, Dale Siefker, Doug Seaborne and Logan Greene.

Lodge Leadership Development is just around the corner, and we want to see you there! LLD is our annual training weekend where officers, advisors, and members come together to learn how to be better leaders while preparing the Lodge for the upcoming year. All Lodge Executive Committee members are required to attend. We also have several youth chair positions still open, and a few adult advisor positions as well. Friday night accommodations will be indoors, and we plan to wrap-up late Saturday afternoon so that everyone can get home for Halloween celebrations. Hope to see you there!

Registration is now open for Nischa Chuppecat Lodge's very first "New Induction Experience"! Members are invited to join us at Maumee between October 23rd and 25th to undergo the induction process that will be used going forward. Built on the same ideals of Brotherhood, Cheerfulness, and Service embodied by the old Ordeal induction process while incorporating more personal and meaningful experiences, the new induction experience promises to give you a new perspective on the OA. Whether you are a first-year Ordeal, a Vigil with decades of membership, or somewhere in between, we promise a fulfilling experience for all!

Our own members who attended the Section Induction Experience two months ago will serve as staff and trainers for the event, while special guest National Vice Chief Emma Wright plans to attend to offer insights and answer any questions attendees may have. Due to a limited number of staff members, attendance is limited to thirty youth and twenty adult participants. So be sure to sign up today, so that you don't miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Congratulations to both those who sealed their membership in the Lodge by obtaining Brotherhood and those who kept their Vigil this past weekend at Fall Fellowship! New Vigil members include Amy Jo Giles (Troop 557), Austin Giles (Troop 557), Mason Inman (Troop 348), and Seja Schneidt (Troop 1148). New Brotherhood members include Aiden B. (Troop 385), Luke B. (Troop 385), Lucas C. (385), Jackson M. (Troop 604), and Eoin T. (Troop 557).

Fall Fellowship 2026 is now history - and what a Fellowship it was! Ninety-five members joined us for a weekend of competitions, inductions, elections, and more, making this our largest Fall Fellowship in over seven years! Attending youth participated in several activities as they competed in "The Chapter Games", with Muscatatuck Chapter ultimately coming out on top, followed by Wapehani and White River Trails.

Elections held Saturday afternoon resulted in Lodge Chief, all Vice Chief positions, and all but one of our nine Chapter officers being filled. Other members kept busy throughout the weekend by attending the ever-popular Lodge auction or completing some form of an induction, with five obtaining Brotherhood and another four being officially recognized as Vigil Honor members. More posts will follow this week recognizing these individuals. Thank you everyone who attended and helped make this Fellowship our best in years! Let's keep the momentum going as we shift from 2026 into 2027!

Last call for Fall Fellowship! Join us at Maumee September 25th-27th for a weekend of competitions and tournaments as we close out 2026! Chapters will compete in flag football, soccer, volleyball, co****le, and more for the ultimate prize! There will also be a 4k run, new workshops including "Shark Tank" and "Making a Patch", and our annual euchre and gaga ball tournaments. Elections for the 2026-2027 officers will be held Saturday afternoon (Forms can be found on the Council website under "OA" and "Resources"). Lastly, there will be one more opportunity this year for members to complete their Brotherhood. So, make sure you sign up before the end of Monday, and we'll see you this upcoming weekend!

Fall Fellowship is now two weeks away! We're promising a weekend of flag football, soccer, volleyball, and other exciting activities as attendees compete in the first ever "Chapter Games"! We'll also have all the Fellowship classics, including our annual Lodge officer elections, the ever-popular Scout patch and memorabilia auction, and one last opportunity to complete your Brotherhood in 2026! Anyone planning to run for an officer position (Lodge Chief, any of the five Vice Chiefs, and Chapter Chief) should complete the appropriate form on the Council website under the OA tab and bring it to the event. We hope to see you and your unit there!

This past weekend, twenty-one members of Nischa Chuppecat Lodge ventured to Camp Cary outside of Lafayette for an unforgettable experience! Joining arrowmen from across the state, they became the first of our Lodge to undergo the new Order of the Arrow induction process. Memories and friendships were made by all, and a good deal of service was accomplished for our hosts. Our Lodge can take pride in the fact that we sent the largest contingent of all six Indiana lodges, some of whom are several times larger than us! Those who attended look forward to passing on what they've learned to the rest of the Lodge at the upcoming Lodge Induction Experience this October. Stay tuned for more information!
