DUES:
Club - ~$60 per semester
$30 for your first six weeks of the first semester you join
BEING A MEMBER:
The club meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8:00-11:00pm, as well as Saturdays and Sundays during the school year. On Wednesdays there will be a beginner lesson offered by a member of the club and on Saturdays and Sundays there will be masterclasses taught by professional coaches
with separate hours dedicated to different experience levels. Mondays and Thursdays operate as a time for open practice and extra help from peers. There will be some Fridays that are dedicated to community dances or socials. Our club is geared towards providing members with high level instruction that will prepare members for fun social dancing and give them the ability to participate in competitive ballroom if they so chose. COMMUNITY DANCES/SOCIALS:
We will host a dance open and free to the entire community about three times a semester. No experience or partner is needed to attend. Optional donations to the club can be given at the door. COMPETITIONS:
Members have the opportunity to represent IU Ballroom Dance as part of a competitive team. The provided lessons and practice will thoroughly prepare members to compete at the collegiate level competitions. The club sponsors about six competitions per year, meaning we drive out together and the club pays for a portion or all of the competition and travel costs in accordance with the amount of fundraising events a member has taken part in. LEADERSHIP: The council meets every other Sunday night with the time and place to be decided. Information about such meetings will be posted in the weekly email or advertised as an announcement after the Wednesday beginner lesson. Each meeting is open for all members to attend. If you would like to teach a lesson, contribute an idea, or just want to get a better idea of what's happening contact a council member at [email protected]
Donation: You can find instructions on how to donate on our website at http://www.indiana.edu/~dance/index.html
