This is Community in action:

Clear Creek Elementary School ended their food drive for Grace Center yesterday and BLEW us away by gathering 1,473.3 pounds of food from their school!

But that’s just part of it. Next, ALL that food has to get to Grace Center Food Pantry. That’s where volunteers from Indian Creek Lions Club, Monroe Co. Indiana step into the picture. Their volunteers drove their trucks to the school and alongside the students loaded the food into the trucks. Indian Creek Lions Club then drove the food to us and unloaded and weighed it, so that our volunteers from the pantry could begin sorting and putting it all away! Phew! 🫨Are you tired yet? What a team!

We are so appreciative of how Indian Creek Lions Club and Clear Creek elementary school partnered to make this happen. We couldn’t do it without you all! Thank you for helping to serve your neighbors from Indian Creek, Clear Creek, and Polk townships who are in need.

Last month, Grace Center celebrated our volunteers with a volunteer appreciation dinner at the Harrodsburg Community Center. It was a pitch-in dinner and a fun “play money” auction with some donated gifts. The “catch” was that the gifts were mystery items. Only a short hint was read aloud to participants who could then bid. Some gifts were a little surprising, lol! 😜 Was great to just have time to hang out together while we weren’t serving.

As has been said many times from other organizations…”it takes a village to keep things going”. It’s no different for our food pantry. So thankful for this village of Grace Center volunteers! ❤️

Today was pantry day, which reminds me how we are continually blessed with community support! Recently, we had three local churches who participated in a friendly food drive competition to see who could bring in the most donations for Grace Center Food Pantry.

Collectively, the three churches donated 1,365.9 pounds of food!

The church who won “bragging“ rights THIS time was Church on the Hill! 🙂

Here's the breakdown of donations:
New Life Church:
414.4 pounds

Harrodsburg Methodist Church:
461.3 pounds

Church on the Hill:
490.2 pounds

How cool that these churches ALL worked toward a common cause to benefit neighbors in need. On behalf of Grace Center we can't thank you enough!

Santa Claus is coming to town!

Come see Santa this Thursday December 4th!

We will have milk and cookies to offer the kids. They can also write a letter to Santa. The doors open at 6pm. Santa will arrive at 7pm with an es**rt from the Monroe County Fire Department.

Free groceries!
Smithville Christian Church will be offering free groceries to anyone in need on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. The church is located at 7280 S. Fairfax Road.
