We also offer a period equity program and annual Period Party. Tandem shall be organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes and other programs and projects as are described in §§ 170(c)(2)(B), 501(c)(3), 2055(a)(2), and 2522(a)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the “Code”), or corresponding provisions of any subsequent federal tax law.
2. The goal o
f Tandem is to provide high quality medical and maternity-related care
services to individuals seeking alternative birthing options. Specifically, Tandem exists to:
a. Create educational and outreach programs and materials related to providing high quality prenatal, perinatal, and postpartum care;
b. Provide evidence-based prenatal, perinatal and postpartum health services to underserved populations;
c. Support families in their child bearing years through activities that build community and increase connection;
d. Expand the range of safe, high quality, accessible birth-related care options available to the community;
e. Educate community members and professionals about the Midwifery Model of Care;
f. Demonstrate excellence in care through statistic-tracking and increased transparency;
g. Improve outcomes related to the morbidity and/or mortality of populations served;
h. Increase access to midwifery care;
i. Solicit and receive funds for the accomplishment of the above purposes; and
j. Pursue any other purpose permitted to be pursued by charity (or, by the private foundation should this organization ever become a private foundation), as that term is defined by 26 USC §§ 501(a) and (c)(3) and associated regulations, as each may from time to time be amended.
