Tonight is our "soft opening" AKA the pay-what-you-can preview! Doors Open at 6:30, Curtain at 7:00 at U-High Stroud Auditorium.

The next 4 days are a culmination of 4 months of preparation, practicing, hard work, and dedication to proving that when given the right supports, the unique challenges of a disability need not handicap a person's ability to participate in life's many experiences.

This special production embodies our belief that everyone should have unrestricted access to the performing arts. This story is a celebration of talent, teamwork, and the transformative experiences that happen when a community comes together to produce inclusive theatre.

When you buy a ticket or make a donation, you're supporting removing barriers to access, but you will also leave that auditorium with a smile on your face and a pep in your step because it is truly a heartwarming celebration of the human spirit.

Showtimes:
Thursday 6/4 (pay what you can preview) 7pm
Friday 6/5 7pm
Saturday 6/6 7pm
Sunday 6/7 2pm

Tickets available online at penguinprojectmclean.org and at the door! No tickets required tonight, but you can donate at the door or online as well.

In 2025, Penguin Project of McLean County chartered a new committee for increasing access to the performing arts and reducing barriers for all who wish to engage with our productions - expanding our mission of providing Unrestricted Access to the performing arts to include more than just our performers on stage.

Please enjoy the new Audience Inclusion options available for our 2026 performances @ https://www.penguinprojectmclean.org/unrestricted-access

These resources should help a new audience member know what to expect before they attend a show, enhance comfort & self-regulation, and ease any anxiety about access or inclusion. We have a static social story with images and a sensory friendly virtual tour video available online, and we will have Sensory Bags and individual communication boards in the lobby that can be checked out for each performance.

Thank you to The Autism Professional Learning & Universal Supports project at ISU and Autism McLean for letting us borrow Sensory Bags for audience use this year!

Thank you to our Unrestricted Access Committee and our incredible ISU Therapeutic Rec Interns for sharing their time & talents towards expanding access to our performances.

Thank you to Shelli Zimmerman, our wonderful ASL Interpreter that will be providing access to our audience at every performance! 🤟

Stroud Auditorium is accessible and includes accessible seating at ground level and via a ramp all the way down to the first row. If you need any other type of accommodation to attend our show, please reach out in advance at [email protected].

A Penguin Project performance is a great place for littles or others to practice being an audience member, we welcome wiggles and encourage engagement with our cast. We hope to see you this weekend, where we believe everyone deserves to be included!
