The University has just announced we will be receiving Juneteenth as an official holiday starting in 2022. A big win for the men and women at IU and a special thank you to last year's negotiating team for a successful request.

Well it looks like IU has finally announced that the COVID-19 vaccine is going to be required for the fall semester. Unfortunately the Union was given no say in the matter one way or another. If you have any questions we ask that you contact the IU at the askHR number listed in the last picture.

Todays recap of Negotiations:
1. We proposed to have Aunt and Uncle added to the Time off for Bereavement Policy and HR denied to add them but did say that they are covered under "in loco parentis" under the FMLA law so as long as you meet these requirements (See pictures) you would qualify to have time off for Aunts and Uncles.
2. Wages- 1.25% increase, $15/hr minimum wage and compression pay for people making $15/hr but less than $17/hr to go into effect on July 1st, 2021. (See Photos)
3. Other items are tabled to be discussed further next week.

Just approved by the IU Board of Trustees in their meeting this morning was a minimum wage increase for all full time employees from 12.33/hr to 13.66/hr effective immediately and then on July 1, 2021 all full time employees will make a minimum of 15.00/hr.
