Medium brown/cinnamon colored dog ran through Ivey court about 5 minutes ago. No collar. Couldn’t get a picture. If you see this pooch and can get a picture let us know. If it’s yours and it’s back home, let us know that too!

Several buses come through Oakwoods every school day so this is a good reminder to us all. But also, please remember to keep a look out for kids waiting at the bus stop in the morning and walking home in the afternoon.

School is back in full swing 🚌🛑

School Buses - Special Stops Required

A driver must stop before meeting or overtaking (passing) a school bus that is stopped and loading or unloading passengers. This includes:
• Any two-lane roadway, in rural areas and within city limits.
• Any roadway, highway or private road.
• Any parking lot located on school property.

The only time a vehicle is not required to stop for a school bus is when both vehicles are on a four-lane roadway and the bus is stopped in the opposite direction from which a driver is traveling.

School buses will activate their flashing lights and extend the stop arm before children enter or exit. If you are approaching a stopped school bus, come to a complete stop and remain stopped until the stop arm is retracted and the flashing lights are off, or the driver signals you to proceed.

A conviction for passing a stopped school bus with flashing lights and the stop arm extended will result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license and $300 fine.

🚔More to come soon, but watch your speed in school zones when children are present. Our officers will be conducting enforcement in different school zones throughout the year.

HOA Board Members Needed! 🏡

It’s that time of year again, and we’re looking for a couple of homeowners who are willing to step up and run for a position on our HOA Board!

Our community doesn’t run itself. From community events and neighborhood improvements to maintaining our common areas and helping make important decisions for our subdivision, it takes dedicated volunteers to keep things moving.

You don’t need to be an HOA expert—just someone who cares about our neighborhood and is willing to lend your time, ideas, and voice.

If you’ve ever thought, “I’d love to see us do more of this,” or “I have an idea that could make our neighborhood better,” this is your opportunity to get involved!

We’d love to have some new faces and fresh ideas join us.

Our Oakwoods community is privileged to have an amazing spot to watch the Big Boy steam locomotive! If you are planning to watch from the cul de sac on Cedar Court, please keep the following in mind:

1) Please walk, bike etc to reserve the very limited street parking for those with mobility challenges. Do not block driveways!
2) Be respectful of private property. There are small common areas at the end of the cul de sac, but most of the lawn you see is not. Do NOT cross the black fence(s). The first is the division between Oakwoods and our neighbor (private property). The second is the safety fence for the railroad tracks.
3) We do not know what time the train will go by. We only know it is scheduled to depart from an undisclosed location at 8:15am. Tracking website is linked below.

Did you know there are 338 homes in our subdivision? Our community is supported by a small group of about 15 volunteers who work hard behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly. It takes a lot of time and effort, and we’d love to have more neighbors get involved!

1. Do you enjoy the community events we host?
2. Do your little ones enjoy the playground?
3. Do you care about maintaining a safe, welcoming neighborhood?
4. Do you want to help improve the storage lot?

These are all things that are possible because of volunteers who are willing to lend a hand. Whether you have a little time or a lot, there are many ways to help make a difference.
