Bloomington is getting a safe and sober place for the whole LGBTIQ+ community, our family, and friends to gather and call our own, where we can find what we need to live our fullest lives. The Front Door Community Center is being created to advance the liberation of our diverse q***r family through: development of safe and sober spaces for all; implementation of support for our local LGBTIQ+ organ

izations and social justice groups to provide community engagement and education opportunities; creation of programs and services that elevate and empower those in our community to lead healthy and fulfilling lives; and performance of advocacy work for social equity and civil rights locally and beyond. Guiding Principles:
• Respect for all, valuing individuality and diversity, and rejecting any ideology of supremacy, without exception.
• Personal and Institutional Integrity in all decisions and actions related to the Center and our patrons.
• Commitment to community collaboration, partnering with and supporting organizations fighting for equity, equality, and the rights of disenfranchised and oppressed populations.
• Commitment to being actively responsive and innovative in service to the evolving needs of our community.

Our friends at are putting on a must-see musical! See what they have to say:

Check out Constellation Stage & Screen’s upcoming production of Finn: A New Musical – At the PB&J Cafe, on stage May 1-17 at the Waldron Auditorium.

From the creator of Doc McStuffins and Vampirina, Finn is a heartwarming musical adventure about a young shark on the brink of growing up. As he prepares to join the fearsome Shark Guard, Finn can’t shake the feeling that he’s different from the other sharks. Deep inside, he discovers a colorful fish inside him—a part of himself that longs to sparkle, sing, and dance. As Finn embarks on a journey of self-discovery, friendship, and adventure, he finds the courage to be himself!

This family-friendly celebration of q***rness and being true to yourself is fun for all ages! Find tickets and learn more at https://seeconstellation.org/kids/finn/

About your instructor:
Adam Phelps holds a 3rd degree black belt in taekwondo and a 2nd degree black belt in hapkido (Korean self-defense) at Lee’s Martial Arts in Bloomington. He taught weekly beginner and advanced taekwondo classes for five years. He founded and teaches the Teen Hapkido program at Lee’s, which teaches 14-17 year olds the fundamentals of hapkido as self-defense. He also fills in as instructor in adult hapkido as needed. Under James Shepard at Guardian Martial Arts, Adam has been training in Modern Arnis (a Filipino martial art that uses sticks and blades as well as empty hand techniques) and Muay Thai (kickboxing from Thailand) for the past five years. Finally, since 2022 he has been teaching kickboxing twice a week at Lee’s. He borrows techniques and approaches from different martial arts and integrates them into his hapkido, which he considers his home art. His focus is on application of modern and traditional fighting techniques into real-world applications.
