Since 1888, our mission has been simpl

e: to assist our member companies and their employees with efficiency, professionalism, and top tier work. Our staff of reporters research and provide project leads and construction bidding documents on over 5,000 projects annually. Our members access construction projects from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa and Wisconsin via our Online and Physical Plan Rooms.

Hard to believe, but September is right around the corner, and our calendar is full of exciting opportunities to connect with fellow members and industry partners as well as professional development.

SEPTEMBER 2 - Construction Talent Acquisition Conference (presented by Project Build Minnesota) 👷
▪️ Join talent acquisition and recruiting professionals from across the construction industry for expert-led sessions focused on today's workforce challenges and tomorrow's recruitment strategies.

SEPTEMBER 7 - Labor Day - MBEX Closed 🛠️

▪️ We're changing things up with our annual clay shoot in Northern Minnesota! Starting at 9:00am, teams will enjoy a 100-round shoot with 50 rounds each on two different courses at Old Vermilion Trail in Duluth.

SEPTEMBER 16 - Bluebeam 5: Collecting Field Data* 📋
▪️ This focused virtual course teaches attendees how to create custom punch symbols, embed field photos and videos, and build summary reports inside Bluebeam Revu.

SEPTEMBER 17 - Online Plan Room Demo 💻
▪️ Consider this a free MBEX Plan Room 101 course! Led in real time by a member of MBEX's staff, attendees will learn the basics of our digital platform, from navigating the Deskpad to self-adding to project bidder lists to setting up project search filters.

SEPTEMBER 17 - Bluebeam 6: Administrative Professionals* ✒️
▪️ This virtual course is specifically for administrative professionals and focuses on document prep and control tasks often overlooked in traditional Bluebeam software training.

SEPTEMBER 18 - Bluebeam 7: Civil Workflows* 📐
▪️ Civil teams have unique needs, and this training course from UChapter2 shows attendees how to calibrate, plan, and profile sheets with differing X-Y scales, visualize cut/fill quantities, create combined maps from multiple PDFs, and streamline survey taking.

Exciting news, MBEXers: we've rescheduled our Lake Superior Harbor Cruise!

Members are invited back aboard fellow member Jeff Foster's sailing vessel in Duluth, and this time, we're hosting alongside the Twin Ports CSI, giving both organizations the chance to expand their networks and strengthen industry relationships.

A few things worth noting about this year's event:

Ask any contractor what keeps them up at night, and we bet "skilled labor," "needing to hire," and "we could have used 3 more folks on that job today" are a few thoughts circling the top of the list.

Companies are competing harder for the same shrinking pool of skilled workers, and the strategies that may have worked five years ago are just not cutting it anymore.

Project Build Minnesota is addressing this industry hurdle directly with their Construction Talent Acquisition Conference on September 2.
