Tuesday started with clouds, wind, and a little rain. By the back nine? Sunshine, good vibes, and a course full of MBEX members and partners from across the commercial construction industry.

The 2026 MBEX Twin Cities Golf Tournament at Oak Glen Golf Course in Stillwater was everything we could have asked for (and then some). A full field of golfers showed up ready to play regardless of what the morning skies had to say about it.

This past Tuesday was a GREAT day! 😎

The brought out a couple hundred members from across the commercial construction industry: new faces, familiar faces, and everyone in between. Delicious food, engaging conversations, beautiful weather; it's exactly the kind of afternoon that reminds us why we do what we do.

To everyone who came out: Thank you! It was so great to see you.

And to those who couldn't make it: We still want to say thank you! But we sure missed you, and we hope we'll see you at the next event.

MBEX exists because of its members, at events like this, in the Online Plan Room, and every day out in the field. Your continued membership, your support, and the knowledge you bring to this community is what makes it all worthwhile.

Curious about what actually happening in construction across the Ninth District right now?

This Friday, June 5, the Federal Reserve Bank of Mineapolis is hosting a free 30-minute webinar and it's worth carving out half an hour of your morning for.

Twice a year, the Minneapolis Fed surveys construction companies across the district to gauge performance and outlook. This webinar will share the results of their spring survey, covering current and backlogged projects, labor conditions, and what fellow contractors are expecting in the months ahead.

If you took the survey earlier this spring, this is where you get to see the full picture. Even if you didn't, it's still an invaluable look at the state of the industry in your own backyard straight from the source.

Know a student currently pursuing a construction-related career? Tag them below or share this post!

The deadline to apply for the 2026-2027 MBEX / TBG Construction Scholarship is Friday, May 29 at 11:55pm, and we'd hate for someone to miss out.

This scholarship, offered in partnership between us (MBEX) and The Builders Group Education Foundation, awards between $1,000 and $5,000 to students pursuing construction-related degrees at accredited post-secondary institutions across Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Students pursuing specialty trades like masonry, electrical, and carpentry are strongly encouraged to apply, as are those studying construction management, heavy equipment operations, and other construction-related fields of study.

To apply, applicants must:

✅ Be entering Fall 2026 as a freshman, sophomore, or junior
✅ Be enrolled at an accredited institution in MN, IA, ND, SD, or WI
✅ Maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher
✅ Have a genuine passion for the construction industry
