Back The Line Monroe County

Back The Line Monroe County We support all 15 First Responder agencies in Monroe County, Indiana. Back the Line Inc.

actively supports first responders’ mental health and morale by providing access to peer support, chaplain services, social workers, grief counseling, and incident debriefings. We also provide opportunities for team building, morale-boosting activities, and help to create connections within our local first responder community. In addition, we provide support for our local Monroe County first responders and their families, in the event of injury or a line of duty death.

Back the Line is built on one simple belief: when our first responders and their families need support, we show up.

Every day, the men and women behind the badge, the radio, and the uniform give so much to our community. Through Back the Line, we’re able to give back, providing assistance, resources, and care when it matters most.

Your donation directly helps us continue that mission. Whether it’s supporting a family during a difficult time, honoring those we’ve lost, or standing beside those still serving, every contribution makes a real impact.

If you’ve ever wondered how you can make a difference, this is it.

Yesterday, we lost a hero in the line of duty. We stand with their family and department in prayer and support. Your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

A message from Beech Grove Police Chief Michael Maurice:

"It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that today we lost one of our very own, Officer Brian Elliott. Officer Elliott, along with two other Beech Grove Police Department officers, was dispatched at 6:08 p.m. to the 100 block of Diplomat Court for a disturbance. After they arrived, Officer Elliott and another officer were shot. Both officers were rushed to Eskenazi Hospital, but despite the best lifesaving efforts by medical personnel, Officer Elliott succumbed to his injuries. The other officer, who we are not naming at this time, is currently in stable condition and is expected to survive.

My heart goes out to Brian’s wife, Erin, his parents, and all of his family, friends, and loved ones. At this time, I am asking that we lean on one another to get through this.

We are grateful to the team at Eskenazi Hospital, and our law enforcement and community partners for their extraordinary response and support."
