Join us on Tuesday for a presentation from one of our favorites, Veronica Porter. She will be giving us Indoor Gardening Tips and Information to Extend the Season, from houseplants to succulents. She is a third-generation organic farmer, chef and food educator, with a passion to create community from growing a garden, preparing meals, gathering and enjoying life's harvest.

Join the Bloomingdale Garden Club on August 18 (updated date) as guest speaker Veronica Porter presents Indoor Gardening to Extend the Season: From Houseplants to Succulents.

A third-generation organic farmer, licensed chef, culinary instructor, and food educator, Veronica holds a master's degree in Organic Urban Farming and Gardening and brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to her presentations.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m., announcements begin at 6:45 p.m., and the program starts at 7:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Faith Community Church, 118 First Street.

Join us on Tuesday for an interesting presentation called “Don’t Squash That Bug!” by Jim Rowan. We will learn all about insects and spiders in our gardens, how to distinguish them, and separate some of the “good guys” from the “bad guys.” Jim has a degree in natural science from Northeastern Illinois University and has been associated with North Park Village Nature Center in Chicago and the Ft. Dearborn Audubon society. He has lectured to many organizations and schools over the past 25 years.
