Sweet Salem is a 𝟐-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫-𝐨𝐥𝐝 girl who is sadly making her way back to us through no fault of her own. ❤️

Salem was adopted as a tiny 4-month-old kitten, and she’s spent the majority of her life with her family. Unfortunately, after a move, the addition of a newborn, and a young puppy who she isn’t particularly fond of, her family has made the difficult decision to return her to rescue.

While we understand that life changes, we know Salem deserves a home where she can settle in, feel safe, and be 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒅 for the sweet girl she is. 🥹

💕 𝑨 𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝑺𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒎:
This girl is as sweet and loving as they come! She enjoys lounging on the couch with her people, soaking up affection, and cuddling with you at night. She’s wonderful around children and would be perfectly happy sharing her home with a respectful dog who understands personal space. A young, rambunctious puppy, however, isn't her cup of tea!

A loving forever home where she can be part of the family, enjoy her cozy couch time, and curl up with her favorite humans at the end of the day. She doesn’t ask for much — just a safe place to call home and people who will love her for the rest of her life.

Due to an increasing number of last minute cancellations and no shows we are going back to our previous pantry model, 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 is first come first served. 𝐍𝐎 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐑𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐃.

𝙃𝙊𝙒𝙀𝙑𝙀𝙍...we will still be collecting information regarding your pets, and will soon be requiring proof of spay/neuter for all animals in the home. If you try to take advantage of our pantry program by not having your animals altered you will be blacklisted and no longer eligible for assistance.

To reiterate, food is now first come first served.
If we run out, we run out and will not tolerate rudeness or nasty comments regarding something we are providing to the community for free.

One of our core values is spay/neuter and we do not support backyard breeding or accidental litters when we offer low cost assistance!

🐾 Our food pantry is stocked by donations and is meant to assist low income families or those going through financial hardship. Please do not take advantage as it leaves fewer resources for those who truly need it.

We are so fortunate to be a recipient of the GA Department of Agriculture Sterilization grant! 🎉

In an effort to combat pet overpopulation, the grant provides state licensed rescues and municipal shelters with the funds they need to supplement their spay/neuter programs.

We received TWELVE thousand dollars, every dime of which will be put into spaying and neutering owned pets in our community. (No TNR cats unfortunately). That's A LOT of cats and dogs! 🐱🐾🐶

⚠️ More details on how to receive assistance will be announced soon. We DO NOT have any appointments to offer or the specifics on costs at this time, so we kindly ask that you hold off on all requests until we get this sorted out.

Her name is French for ʝᥱωᥱꙆ and we can't think of a more fitting name for this tiny treasure. 💎

Bijou is an approximately 4.5-year-old Chihuahua mix with a 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒈𝒐𝒍𝒅 and a story that will tug at your heartstrings.

Until recently, Bijou's world was heartbreakingly small. She was rescued from a hoarding situation where she lived in a dirt pen alongside 60 other dogs. Exposed to the elements around the clock, covered in fleas, and battling intestinal parasites, Bijou had never experienced many of the simple comforts that every dog deserves. 🥺

𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘩𝘦'𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩, 𝘉𝘪𝘫𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 🖤

This tiny sweetheart absolutely 𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬 people. She's playful, affectionate, and firmly believes that cuddles and kisses should be distributed generously and often. After spending so much of her life without the love and attention she deserved, Bijou is making up for lost time, 𝚘𝚗𝚎 𝚜𝚗𝚞𝚐𝚐𝚕𝚎 𝚊𝚝 𝚊 𝚝𝚒𝚖𝚎 💕

Of course, learning how to be a pampered little princess comes with a bit of a learning curve!

Bijou isn't housebroken or crate trained just yet. After all, when you've spent your life living outdoors, nobody exactly hands you a copy of "ʜᴏᴜsᴇ ᴅᴏɢ ᴇᴛɪǫᴜᴇᴛᴛᴇ ꜰᴏʀ ʙᴇɢɪɴɴᴇʀs" 😂 With patience, consistency, and lots of positive reinforcement, we're confident this clever little lady can learn the ropes.

Bijou will also need a sᴇᴄᴜʀᴇʟʏ ꜰᴇɴᴄᴇᴅ ʏᴀʀᴅ and a family committed to teaching her how to walk on a leash. She is a potential flight risk and doesn't understand how dangerous the world can be.

𝘈𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘧𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴? Bijou has shown quite a bit of interest in the bigger dogs in her foster home! She's still a little intimidated by their size, but she seems genuinely eager to make friends.

We aren't sure how she feels about cats, as her foster home doesn't have any. And because of her background and need for a patient, gentle environment, we're recommending a home with 𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒏 𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒔 𝟏𝟎 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓.
