💔It is with great sadness that we announce that Gallant's Ace (TB/Friesian cross) has passed away in the early hours this morning at the age of 20 years old.

We've known Ace and his previous family for over a decade. When he needed a soft place to land after the passing of his owner last fall he became a permanent RRM resident horse. He was always smiling for a treat and enjoyed hanging with his best pal, Vincent in the pasture. He will be missed but we're confident he has now been reunited with his loving owner, Kay.

Enjoy the greenest of pastures, friend.

Excuse the flip flops. Impromptu FIRST pony rides happened for the sweetest little girl ever!
Little Amelia has been visiting Sally almost every week that she's been with RRM through the fence, but never wanted to get much closer. Last night she decided she could sit on Sally and then decided to walk a few steps. Then, in true fashion, she never wanted to get off! And I swear Sally was beaming with pride. The best friendships take some time and patience to develop ❤️🐴

A HUGE thank you to the Cantors for their generous donation of a new-to-us two horse straight load (with ramp which is huge for any of our horses with sore hooves coming in) Sundowner trailer! You have no idea how appreciated this gift is! ❤️❤️

The best horses in Heaven
they have no tail.
This is a rule they all know
without fail.
For when a new horse arrives
with a short cut bob,
they all know that this horse
did a very good job.

His owner could not bear
to part with her friend
so she saved his tail,
wrapped in ribbons
and in braids,
to hold with his memory
in a very loving way.

To enter Heaven
without a tail
is an honor,
a message,
that without fail
announces to everyone,
far and wide
that this horse
was more than a wonderful ride.

But this horse was loved and cherished by one
and when his time serving on this Earth was done
he left behind a broken heart and a soul
from which he never will part.

We welcomed back one of our former RRM graduates, Sally (now known as Sassy) today! She was adopted out about 5 years ago and her owner's daughter reached out and arranged to have her come back to us to see if we could help her feet feel better instead of being put down. At the time of adoption we knew that she was a grade mini that had been Amish broke to ride and drive. She's just as sweet as ever and we're looking forward to reassessing her training and behavior profiles in the upcoming week to help her find her perfect next home!
Miss Sally's sash asks: "Could I be YOUR right horse?"

She'll be up for adoption after we get a better handle on her sore feet. Please inquire if you'd like to meet her in the meantime.

*Revive The Spirit* *Rescue the Equine* *Mentor The Child*

Refuge Ranch Ministries is here to help horses transition from non-ideal situations to their right home with loving, caring families that can provide for them. To date, we have helped rescue, rehabilitate and rehome 56 horses and the need is still so great. We fund our programs through fundraising events, grants and caring individuals who donate! We are a registered nonprofit with our 501(c)3 status so all donations are tax deductible! RRM currently serves youth and their families in our on-farm student session and community outreach programs. We pair an adult mentor with a potentially at-risk youth in a 90 minute session which typically includes a short devotional, giving back (via small farm chore) and time with a horse. Sessions are student led and they’re welcome exactly as they are! The only thing we ask in return of the child is that they want to be in the session. We aim to reduce feelings of loneliness, depression, unplanned teen pregnancies, substance abuse, youth su***de rates and other unhealthy behaviors by providing the child with a loving adult mentor that is available to them to open up to.

RRM was founded in 2014 by Stephanie Bruggeman and Frank & Katie Cacich. It’s been an honor and a blessing to watch as God gently molds this ministry into the organization that He wishes it to be. By allowing God to work through us, and by His people working together, we can save and restore lives for His Kingdom!
