Noelle Hill is our May Teen of the Month. Her parents are Josh and Emily Hill. Her siblings are Caden and Aubrey Hill, Macy and Ethan Trampush, & Julia and Owen Bell.

During her time at Davis County High School Noelle has been involved in volleyball, basketball, track & field, softball, girls wrestling, band,
choir, student government, Jr. Optimist club, Fellowship of Christian Students, National Honor Society, Spanish club, quiz bowl, and history club. Her favorite subject in school is Anatomy.

Outside of school Noelle keeps busy working part-time at Rainbows and Friends Christian Daycare, attending church at Living Hope Bible Church in Eldon where she plays the drums in the praise band, and have volunteering in the
community at events such as the Latino Festival, 5k races, youth sporting camps and events, fairgrounds concessions stand, Walk for Life, I-Care, and musical performances for special occasions in local parades, assemblies, and at the nursing home. She has also volunteered on church mission trips in Florida, Colorado, and Mississippi, and at Lake View Angel Tree Church Camp.

Noelle remarks “My proudest accomplishment so far is my peers asking me questions about Jesus and my faith in God is the most meaningful thing I
have accomplished.”

High school staff and coaches feel Noelle is very deserving of this honor as well, when asked to describe her they say:

Noelle is great, plain and simple. I have had the chance to be one of her teachers and coaches for the last 5 years. She is someone who will always give everything she has in whatever she is doing. She will do amazing things in the future and is very deserving of this honor.

Noelle is an incredibly hard-working individual who knows how to set goals and achieve them. She has incredible faith and lives an upstanding, virtuous, and just life. She is a fighter, coming back from several injuries in multiple sports.

It has been a privilege to get to know Noelle and work with her these past few years. Noelle is a leader in every sense of the word. She is a role model for our school and is also gifted at connecting with others and guiding them to success. Noelle brings light to every room she enters with such an uplifting spirit to those around her. She has had to continuously overcome bouts of adversity and it is inspirational to see the growth of Noelle as a person because of those trials. We will for sure miss her being at Davis County High School and in our community as her journey goes to the next chapter.

Noelle Hill is an excellent student to work with. She strives to succeed in everything that she does, and she puts in the effort to make it happen. She is a strong leader with the respect of her fellow students. She brings a great attitude and motivates those around her to work hard as well.

Noelle Hill has been a great student to have in class and work with on projects outside of class. In the classroom she puts in the work needed to be successful in challenging courses. It is clear she has a goal in mind of what she wants her future to look like and what she needs to do to get there. Outside of the classroom she is a clear leader. She is not afraid to take on leadership roles and makes sure that ideas come to fruition by doing what it takes. I feel comfortable giving her a task and she makes it happen well within a deadline. She can be found with a smile on in the hallways and will make sure to talk to any student just to even offer a hello and to let them feel seen. Noelle is a great role model for our younger students showing them how to get involved in activities both in and out of school as well as keeping up on studies.

Noelle is a sweet, quiet, but determined leader. She is not going to be told she can't do something, but she will approach it with class and dignity. I have watched her at different times injure and reinjure her knee this year, and she keeps a smile on her face and once you talk to her you realize she is determined to compete.

Noelle is one of the kindest and most hardworking people you could meet. She leads by example among her peers, always showing respect, positivity, and determination in everything, she does. She's never afraid to step outside her comfort zone or try something new, and she gives her full effort in every opportunity she takes on. Her dedication, leadership, and genuine heart make her someone others naturally look up to.

Noelle Hill is such an outstanding and determined young lady. She has been faced with many hurdles this last year of her high school career and has handled each one of them with poise and grace. Noelle is a selfless individual that always puts her team's needs in front of her own desires and aspirations. She is a natural leader who encourages others through her words and actions; she never misses an opportunity to spread her positivity. Noelle is the epitome of an optimist and is very deserving of this recognition!

Noelle has been involved in numerous extra-curricular activities while attending high school. She is one of the best all-around student-athletes. Great young lady who has many peers who adore her. She is a great role model for the younger students. I know they look up to her. Noelle will be one of the few 4 sport athletes that have ever walked the halls of Davis County. I can't even name all the activities/clubs she has been involved in, but there are many!! Noelle will be greatly missed by the staff at DCHS. Congratulations to her, she has earned it in many ways. Congrats Noelle!!

Noelle Hill has participated in Marching Band, Concert Band, and Pep Band all four years of high school. This fall she was one of the drum majors for the marching band. Noelle has been involved in numerous other activities and sports throughout high school. She has excellent time management skills which enable her to participate and be successful in many different activities. Noelle has high expectations for herself and expects the same for others. She is dedicated, conscientious, and always has a positive attitude. Noelle is always encouraging and willing to help the younger students. These qualities have enabled Noelle to become a student leader in the band.

Noelle is a great choice for Teen of the Month! She is a very talented and driven young woman. I admire her ability to work through challenges in the way that she does. She is the most methodical problem-solver I have ever encountered, and because of this, she will undoubtedly outwork those around her and achieve her goals. I feel lucky to have coached her for three seasons of Varsity volleyball and to have taught her for two years in English. She was a co-captain on our volleyball team her junior and senior years, which I think says a lot about her leadership ability. She is fair and inclusive and kind and genuine and smart and witty and funny and soooooooo dang cool! ;) On a more personal note, she has been the BEST role model for my daughter, Harper, who is in 8th grade. Noelle has impacted our lives in countless ways, and I am so proud to have been part of her journey.

Noelle has helped with a few shows in Middle School mainly behind the scenes. She has participated in the Speech and Drama Club as well. Even though she hasn't been able to participate much in the speech and drama, I have seen her in other roles at school in sports and music. Noelle has determination in whatever she sets her mind to. Blaze your own trail, Noelle, and best of luck in your adventures!

Noelle came out for the very first Davis County girls wrestling team which took a lot of bravery and courage to try something new, especially her senior year. She went into the season with lots of energy and excitement. Due to an early injury, she had to sit out of competition for the first 3rd of the season. She showed grit and perseverance through the healing process where she ultimately worked her way back onto the mat. She was one of the leaders on the team even when she couldn't compete. She brought positive energy even when it was really hard. One of my favorite memories of Noelle was when she fought back to pin a girl who had beat her earlier in the season. This was at the home meet in front of our home crowd including a lot of family. She faced a lot of adversity throughout the season including a season ending knee injury which broke my heart. What I saw as a coach was a super tough kid who fought through some pain and discouragement and came out of the season as an even stronger person than before. Noelle has learned to appreciate the opportunities that are given to her. In wrestling God left her hungry because He has big plans for her. Congratulations!

After graduation, Noelle, plans to attend the University of Northern Iowa where she will study Kinesiology in pursuit of an athletic training career.

She will receive a $100.00 scholarship at Senior Awards night with $50.00 from our club and $50 from the Lynch Law.

CONGRATULATIONS NOELLE!!

While I have not taught Aries Derby in any of my classes, I do see him in the hallways and in his many activities he is involved in. He will always give it his best no matter what he is doing. I do not think I have ever seen him hang his head and give up even when things are not going his way. He has a quiet leadership quality that makes him likeable to other students and he helps younger students find confidence in what they are doing. His respectful attitude and hard work ethic will definitely take him far in the future.

I have been one of Aries teachers for 3 years. I also had the chance to coach him in middle school football. He is a hard worker in everything that he does. He is pretty soft spoken and allows his actions to speak for themselves. He has accomplished many things in his life and will continue to do so.

He is the first to volunteer to help out, showing up early and staying late to lend a hand. He leads by example, always giving his best effort in everything he does.

Aries is the just simply the most dedicated, dependable hard-working athletes. Congratulations a very well-deserved honor.

Aries has been involved in theatre since the fifth grade. He mainly has worked the lights for me during shows but I have coaxed him onto the stage two different times! Aries has helped with the production of "The Snow-White Variety Show" as a junior director. Even though he is a man of few words, he exhibits a passion for everything he is involved in from theatre to track to Scouts. Aries has also been a part of groups that have competed at Speech contest including reader's theater and group improv. Best of luck to you, Aries! I will miss you greatly!

Aries Derby is a positive young man who always sees the bright spot in any situation. He has a great sense of humor and a humble way that is very endearing to those around him. Aries always puts forth his best effort in all of his activities that he is passionate about. He never gives up and shows courage when it matters most!

Aries is someone who will surprise you, he is in athletics, but also fine arts. He is someone that once you begin talking to realize he has a lot of interests. He is someone I feel likes to stay busy and will find things to do in his down time. He puts effort into his school work and has a lot of friends, well liked in the school by students, and staff.

Aries - I have enjoyed getting to know Aries the past few years. As a fellow Eagle Scout, I can say that he exemplifies the Scout Oath and Law. He gives back to his community and school on a regular basis, is a leader, and always gives 100% to what he is doing.

I think Aries Derby is a fantastic recipient. He is very involved in school and community activities. He is extremely kind and always willing to help out when needed.

Aries is a respectful, responsible, and compassionate student who consistently demonstrates maturity beyond his years. He is a joy to have in class, always bringing enthusiasm, positivity, and a great attitude to those around him. His kindness and upbeat personality make a positive impact on both his peers and teachers every day.

Aries is truly an all-around good kid! He is never afraid to be himself, and we're lucky because he is absolutely hilarious. In our Creative Writing class this year, he channeled his love for dairy cows into an awesome children's book! And he wrote some "sentimental" poetry that brought us to tears. ;) Overall, I have really enjoyed having Aries in class. He brings a lot of joy to our building. He is very deserving of the Teen of the Month honor!

Aries Derby has been involved in Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Pep Band all four years of high school. Aries has been involved in many other activities and sports while in high school and always finds time for band. Aries has a great work ethic. I can always count on him to arrive early or stay late to move equipment or help out in any way. Aries is dedicated, has great character, and always gives 100% effort. While usually a quiet student, Aries' great personality has shown his senior year. I have truly enjoyed working with and getting to know Aries.

Plans after graduation will be to attend Indian Hills Community College for Criminal Justice program.

He will receive a $100.00 scholarship at Senior Awards night with $50.00 from our club and $50 from the Bloomfield Christian Church.

Jeronn Bennett is our April Teen of the Month. His parents are Justin and Tiffany Bennett. He has three sisters, Makayla and Jadin Bennett and Alyson Payne.

During his time at Davis County High School Jeronn, has been a part of the track, Cross country and football teams. His favorite subject in school is History.

Outside of school Jeronn keeps busy being a part of a small Christian youth group, he attends the Bridge Church in Ottumwa. He helps with the youth track program and works at Citizens Mutual as in intern.

High school staff and coaches feel that Jeronn is very deserving of this honor as well, when asked to describe him the say:

Jeronn finds ways to use his strengths in order to achieve his goals. He puts in extra hours for his athletic teams, and he is a leader in the classroom.

Although I have never had Jeronn in an academic class, I have been able to get to know Jeron through his friends and his leadership roles at school. Jeron is a natural born leader. He gives maximum effort as a team member and supports his peers during their trials and successes alike. Jeron is respectful, courteous and a very approachable individual. His humbleness and positivity make him very deserving of this award!

Jeronn does not seek the spotlight, he is someone who will gladly be just off to the side quietly doing the work to get better and to step into the lead at the last moment. He is that way in sports as well as in the classroom. He is always right there, working to get better. He will usually have a smile on his face and will politely listen to everything teachers and coaches say, taking it all in and putting it to good use. Jeronn is a quiet leader and respected by his peers, he is greatly deserving of this honor.

Jeronn is a student that works hard and upholds his morals and ethics in everyday life. He is always nice, polite, and respectful

I have enjoyed my interactions with Jeronn over the years. I coached him for two years in Middle school football and then have had the chance to be one of his teachers over the last four years. It has been a pleasure seeing this young man mature over the years and turn into the person that he is. I look forward to seeing what he will do in the years to come. He is very deserving of this honor.

I have been very fortunate to be Jeronn's cross country coach the last two years. He puts in his best effort each and every day. Jeronn is always asking what he can do to be better to reach his highest potential. As with any athlete, setbacks happen. When that happened to Jeronn, he handled challenging situations in a very mature manner, doing whatever he could to get back to competing. Jeronn is a phenomenal leader. His teammates look up to him a great deal for encouragement and advice. Jeronn was always out on the course during practice and at meets cheering on every teammate. He has been a tremendous help at youth track practices as well, showing amazing patience working with younger kids, and having a positive tone and attitude towards them.

Jeronn Bennett is most deserving of Teen of the Month. Jeronn works hard in the classroom and in his activities. Jeronn is a respectful young man, he has a strong group of peers who admire him. The HS staff enjoys having Jeronn in their class. I hope Jeronn is able to qualify for the state track meet again as a senior. He deserves it as he has worked hard for it. Congratulations Jeronn!

Jeronn has grown into one of the kindest and most genuine kids in our school building. He is goal-oriented and doesn't hesitate to advocate for himself if he needs help on something. I feel lucky to have taught him as a freshman, junior, and senior. He brings a lot of joy to my classroom, and I appreciate how polite and respectful he is to me and to others. He is an important part of our DCHS community! I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Jeronn, especially on creative projects, and I'll always remember the poem he wrote about his mom his freshman year and the children's book he wrote in my class as a junior. He has a good heart! Congratulations, Jeronn!!

After graduation plans Jeronn remarks “My plans aren't certain, but I am interested in working for Citizens Mutual. If I procure college, it would be for technicians or fiber optic training.”

He will receive a $100.00 scholarship at Senior Awards night with $50.00 from our club and $50 from First Iowa State Bank.

CONGRATULATIONS JERONN!
