Bloomfield Mandolin Orchestra Bloomfield Mandolin Orchestra is a community-based traditional plectrum orchestra. Performances are held year-round throughout the New York metropolitan area.

The traditional founding date of the BMO is 1941, although recent research has shown that it existed much earlier. The Bloomfield Mandolin Orchestra is one of five performing groups under the auspices of the Bloomfield Federation of Music, an organization sponsored by the Bloomfield Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs Department. The Orchestra is comprised of volunteer musicians from a vast cros

s section of backgrounds and careers. Maestro Raul Abbad Huaman joined us as the new conductor of the Orchestra after a twelve year tenure of Maestro Enrico Granafei. The orchestra rehearses every Tuesday from September through May at the Bloomfield Middle School, 60 Huck Road, Bloomfield, NJ, from 7:30 to 9:30 P.M. The Bloomfield Mandolin Orchestra welcomes new members. Knowledge of reading music is required to join. The Orchestra also offers annual classes and workshops which are open to the public.
