Join the Davis County 4-H County Youth Council! This youth-led group gives high school students the opportunity to be the voice of 4-H, plan county events, give back to the community, build leadership skills, and have fun along the way!

ISU Research and Demonstration Farm is hosting their Fall Field Day on September 10th. This event is open to the public at no cost. 🌱

Field day topics include:
- Research Farm and Growing Season Updates
- Long-term productivity and nitrate-nitrogen loss from corn and prairie bio-energy cropping systems
- Miscanthus Production in Iowa: Agronomy, Emerging Markets, & Science at ISU
- Forage Opportunities with Cover Crops

🌱 Join us for a Pasture Walk!

Take an evening to get out in the pasture and learn what to be watching for as we head into fall. We’ll be at Sandeen Genetics in Blakesburg on Wednesday, September 9th, from 4:30–8:00 PM discussing w**d identification, fall w**d control, fertility planning, and how to select the right replacement for your farm.

This event is free and open to the public, and no pre-registration is required. We do ask that you RSVP if possible so we can plan for food.

Get Harvest Ready with Combine University!

Join Iowa State University's Digital Ag Innovation Lab for Combine University, a hands-on, one-day workshop designed to help operators maximize harvest efficiency, improve yield data accuracy and reduce grain loss.

Participants will gain practical experience in machine setup, yield monitor calibration, grain loss reduction, residue management and preventative maintenance to keep combines operating efficiently throughout harvest.

Our Davis County 4-H Crop Scouting Team had a great first year competing. The team learned a lot, gained valuable experience, and brought home an 8th-place finish!

AMES, Iowa – Twelve teams of Iowa youth in grades 7-12 competed in the Iowa Youth Crop Scouting Competition on July 27 at the Field Extension Education Laboratory in Boone, testing their knowledge of integrated pest management and crop production through hands-on field challenges.

State Fair Static Project Drop-Off Schedule
✅ Static Projects: Friday, August 7th
✅ Food & Baked Goods: Monday, August 10
🚚 All projects will be transported to the Iowa State Fair on Tuesday, August 11th

Please make sure your project is dropped off during the designated times. Projects that are not received by the deadline will not be taken to the Iowa State Fair.
