Last night the Bloomfield Fire Department done some hands on training to a couple real life scenarios. To add an extra problem we done this after dark. Most people train in the light but when it is pitch black, you have to overcome that issue as well. First we had a farmer trapped under a combine head. They to use air bags and cribbing to lift it of him safely. Second scenario farmer had gotten caught in the bean head and was caught in the auger tube. They used different types of power tools to cut pieces of the head away to get at the victim. They also learned parts of the combine and how they work. Over last night was a huge success hopefully we never have to put that type of training to use, but if need be I am sure they will do fine. 9/7/26 called to set up landing zone for a helicopter for patient injured in auto accident
9/8/26 Dispatched to a 2 vehicle 10-50 then afterwards 1 driver took off. Ended up looking for a couple hours with thermal cameras and utvs to search the area. State patrol even brought in k-9 to search.👀

We had 1 training night where we toured the elementary and middle school. We saw the new construction and new room configurations to help us with our preplans. We also had a work night at the station cleaning trucks as well as the station and getting ready for our new extractor. For those of you that don’t know what an extractor is it is basically a very high power washing machine that gets the carcinogens out of our turnout gear to keep us safe. A regular washing machine doesn’t do the job good enough so we had to get one which we were fortunate enough to get a grant to get it basically paid for.
