October 2nd is National Custodian Day, an opportunity to recognize the dedicated custodial professionals who work tirelessly to maintain clean, safe, and healthy learning environments in our schools.

Custodians are an essential part of every school community. Their work supports not only the physical operation of our facilities but also the well-being of students, staff, and visitors. From early mornings to late evenings, their efforts ensure that our buildings remain welcoming and functional every day.

The Connecticut School Building and Grounds Association encourages all members to take time this week to acknowledge and thank your custodial teams for their commitment and service. Recognition can take many forms—whether a note of appreciation, a group acknowledgment, or a small celebration, each gesture demonstrates the value we place on their contributions.

Please join us in expressing gratitude to the custodians who take such pride in their work and play a vital role in the success of our schools.
