There will be an informational meeting for an EMT class on July 13th, 7pm at the Bloomfield Ambulance Hall. This is the meeting to attend if you’ve ever had the slightest interest in becoming an EMT. Bloomfield will be hosting an in-person class starting August 18th (if enough people sign up)

Recently, personnel from the Bloomfield-Lindy Ambulance Service and Bloomfield lifeguards took part in scenario training exercises to boost readiness for emergency situations. Scenarios included rescuing and treating drowning victims, neck injuries and bleeding control.

Bloomfield EMS, Fire and PD responded to a mock car accident. The purpose of the accident was to show the dangers and consequences of driving while distracted and also for the first responders to practice their skills.

PSA: when an emergency happens, the fastest and most effective route to help is calling 911 not personal numbers. Dispatchers are trained to assess the situation, dispatch the right resources and help you over the phone until help arrives. Calling personal numbers delays help from arriving and vital information can be left out.
