Hope Apartments has a new home.
The New Foster Care has purchased the former Embassy Suites hotel at 28100 Franklin Road in Southfield as the future location of Hope Apartments — a supportive housing community for young adults who have experienced foster care.
Originally constructed in 1986 and vacant since 2019, the building will undergo a full renovation to become a space for housing, offices, supportive services, and community connection.
Once complete, Hope Apartments is planned to include 175 residential units, with a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. The building will also include community spaces and amenities designed to support connection, stability, and growth.
Through onsite wraparound support from The Bridge Program, residents will have access to services that support the whole person, including medical, mental health, nutritional and maternal health supports, dental services, life skills, educational support, vocational training, and more.
Our team recently toured the building together and began imagining what this space will become. There is still a lot of work ahead as the building moves through cleanout, planning, and renovation, but this is a major milestone toward expanding housing and support for young adults with experience in foster care.
Thank you to our supporters, partners, board, donors, staff, and community for helping bring this vision to life.
More updates to come.
