Our mission is rooted in love — and lived out through action.

At The New Foster Care, we exist to show the love of Jesus Christ by creating measurable, meaningful, and transformative change in Michigan’s foster care system and in the lives of those who have experienced foster care.

That means walking alongside young adults.
Filling gaps in the system.
Building practical support.
Creating opportunities for stability, hope, and a stronger future.

Because transformation doesn’t happen from a distance.

It happens when people show up, love well, and believe that every life is worthy of care, dignity, and possibility.

Every child deserves to start the school year feeling prepared.

Thanks to First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth, 38 children connected to The Bridge Program will begin the year with backpacks filled with school supplies, and a reminder that their community is cheering them on.

A backpack can carry more than supplies.
It can carry confidence, care, and a strong start. 🎒

Every win takes more strength than you may realize.

These are major milestones, and for young adults with experience in foster care, they are often reached while navigating barriers that many of their peers do not face.

That is why we celebrate not only the win, but also the courage, persistence, and effort it took to get there. 💙

And the wins do not stop there. 💙

• A participant passed the first part of his mechanic certification test. He only has the brakes portion left before he can pursue more opportunities at work.

• One participant recognized that he needed help and allowed his team to support him through a difficult moment. Asking for help is a sign of strength.

• Participants are following through on employment referrals and consistently attending appointments as they work toward their goals.

• A participant took an important step in caring for her health by scheduling a medical appointment.

Every win reflects courage, effort, and a willingness to keep moving forward.

Another look at Hope Apartments.

Right now, the building shows the reality of being vacant for years. There is so much possibility ahead.

Over the next few years, this former Embassy Suites will begin its transformation into Hope Apartments: safe, stable housing and supportive space for young adults who have experienced foster care.

For now, these photos are a reminder of where we’re starting and the vision we’re building toward.

This is just the beginning, and we’re grateful to bring the community along as this project continues to take shape.
