The *almost* baby of the family, Maple, loves attention and saying hi! She is looking forward to being a bright spot for those who visit the Ranch this summer.

Matthew 5:16 Let your LIGHT so SHINE before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Cody’s excited and waiting to play with kids in just two short weeks! He has so much joy to give!

Feeling weary or burned out and need a little extra strength to get through?! Joy is your secret weapon! 💪

The joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10

We have been beyond blessed by this faithful crew of men who have been here multiple days to cut trees and get the arena fencing up. We’ve been reusing posts and fencing from our old arena. And my favorite part, the smiles and cheerfulness of those working. We even got to take a few horses into the arena on training runs today. The number of people who pour into Scenic Hills is amazing! There has been approximately 600 volunteer hours in 2026 so far!

2 Corinthians 9:7: Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Here’s where we went on Monday (the first trip!)! Meet Annie and her 4 week old filly. 🥰 To say we are smitten is an understatement. I wish we could tell you the full story of Annie but honestly we only know the last 1-4 weeks of her story.

We’ve been searching for our final equine partner for this summer when our friend called and said he had the perfect horse (and she was in our budget aka the exact amount that had been donated to find our last horse!) He purchased Annie (no name at the time) a week ago because he thought her filly would be a fun project. When he started working with her, he knew she’d be perfect for us. Insert God—sounds exactly like something He would do. Bring us an 8 year old mare (with a fun addition of the filly until she’s ready to be weaned). A horse with no known background. Purchased only for her baby from an auction a week ago. Unwanted. No known story BUT God. And just like that she landed in her forever home. Her story is redeemed. From unwanted to not only WANTED but LOVED and soon to be fully KNOWN by us. Just like the kids who come here—a place where they and their families are known, wanted and loved not only by the people here but by the God of the universe. Their stories are redeemed. They find purpose. They find belonging.

Annie was purchased in loving memory of Jim and Ann Shimon who truly knew the healing power of horses. May God bless her and every single life she touches. 🥹🤍

Psalm 68:6 God sets the lonely in families.

Cody. Cody is the answer and got the first ride in the new arena at volunteer training tonight! Lots of room and fun in the new arena. We need to get all the fencing up but we tried it out (after an inch of rain!) and it worked great! We are SO grateful! Many many people have a hand in this night including all who volunteer, all who pray for us and all the donors who give so selflessly to create a place of peace and hope! Even the littlest volunteers were training in the (stationary) saddle! Thank you!!

Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Looking forward to the first ride in the arena! I don’t know if I can wait until the rails are up! This is your chance to weigh in: which horse should get the first ride in this beautiful sand?! 🤩🤩🤩

Well done HP Excavation! Now onto the finishing touches of cleaning up the edges and feathering out the black dirt.

As promised here’s the project our other volunteer group was working on this past Monday! As many remember, our log fence on our arena has been a signature from nearly the beginning. It’s a neat way to use resources from nature that God has given us. It’s beautiful and also 100% cost effective (free! Other than the intense labor!) while also being safe and sturdy for our horses and riders. Terry, Jesse and Cletus cut down 400 linear ft of trees for both rails on Monday and brought them out of the woods. Up next, installation-stay tuned! And a huge THANK YOU for making this a home with your time and talent and loving all the people who will come here by providing this beauty.

Colossians 1:3-4 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people—
