In 2025, American Legion Family members and veteran advocates used our Grassroots Action Center (GAC) to send 102,873 messages to Congress urging them to pass Legion-supported legislation. The GAC connects members and advocates with their members of Congress.
Of those, 22,299 called for support for the , which would ensure that combat-injured retirees can receive both their Department of Defense retirement pay and the disability compensation earned through their sacrifices. The standalone bill has overwhelming bipartisan support, with 313 cosponsors in the House and 77 in the Senate as of January 2026—more than enough to pass if brought to a floor vote.
